Black & Veatch are recruiting for a Assistant Network Modeller to be based at either our Redhill or Chester office.
Full-time & Part-time will be considered for this role.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for day to day decisions that contribute to the successful delivery of projects to budget and programme, whilst meeting the appropriate quality and safety standards.
Accountable for meeting own deadlines/targets and ensuring quality of own service provision
May have day-to-day contact with clients and understand routine client needs in own work area. Report to client on specific area of responsibility where required.
Manages own learning and development with guidance from manager.
Have responsibility for managing internal technical support staff or external consultants on specific tasks.
Within a defined scope, collects data, analyses and resolves specific problems. Actively participate in making suggestions to project problems.
Actively sources and shares information.
Provides routine explanation and advice in a timely and effective manner.
Organises own workload in consideration of directed priorities and system requirements.
Education and training:
Degree in relevant subject i.e. Civil, Engineering, Physical Geography Strong A-Levels in Maths and Physics Some work experience in industry.
Academic and professional qualifications
Background and experience:
Evidence of team working and application to problem solving. Knowledge of network modelling. Delivering project tasks to budget and programme. Use of InfoWorks CS or ICM and MapInfo or other modelling and GIS software
Understanding of network modelling and GIS.
Communicate effectively with team members, sub-consultants, clients, other external organisations.
Ability to write clearly and concisely producing well written reports.
Skilled in 1D modelling with understanding of 2D modelling. Skilled in the use of MS Word and Excel.
Drive, enthusiasm and integrity.

Preferred Job Qualifications:
MSc or MEng in related subject.
Graduate member of ICE or CIWEM or equivalent and evidence of progress on training schemes.
Experience of other kinds of modelling. Some experience of managing others and also working directly with, and communicating with clients.
Basic understanding of the water industry, runoff theories, reporting and design.
Clean driving licence. Skilled in GIS packages.
Able to manage inputs to several projects at a time.
