Primary Purpose:
This is a position that serves as a electrical construction inspector typically assigned to less complex smaller construction projects; basic civil works, underground pipelines, pumping stations, and plants. Duties may include project controls administration.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Anticipates and prepares accordingly for daily and upcoming construction activities
• Performs minor drawing and specification research as directed
• Reviews and adheres to the contractor’s project schedule
• With direction interprets contract documents for QA/QC
• Calculates quantities with direction
• Performs administrative duties related to project controls in the absence of admin staff
• Inspects basic construction activities with little direction
• Documents field observations
• Resolves construction issues in the field peer-to-peer
• Observes B&V’s safety policies
• Assists in determining %-completes for pay applications

Minimum Qualifications:
All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Preferred Job Qualifications:
High School or equivalent preferred. 2+ years of field experience desired. Construction-related discipline degree or craft apprenticeship preferred.

• Strong attention to detail
• Basic knowledge of plans and specifications
• Basic knowledge of tools, equipment, and instruments used in performance of job duties
• Intermediate communications skills, both written and oral
• Basic understanding of heavy construction principles
• Basic problem solving skills
• Basic knowledge of heavy-construction materials and equipment
• Basic knowledge of heavy-construction means and methods
• Basic ability to read contract drawings and knowledge of specifications
• Basic problem identification and resolution skills
• Basic knowledge of project controls software
