Black & Veatch provides engineering, technology, consulting and construction solutions that span the life cycle of projects in the power generation, power delivery and hydrocarbon process industries. Our services encompass planning, design, procurement, construction, startup, optimization and maintenance.
Serves as a key business advisor to the Power and Oil & Gas businesses reporting directly to the Sr. Financial Analysis Manager. Provides complex level analysis, planning and management reporting. Provides recommendations and solutions. Responsibilities include consolidation and review of combined results and plans with a general understanding of variances. Develops and maintains financial tools and models. Works under minimal supervision to establish and complete priorities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares and interprets financial data. Provides complex analysis and recommendations primarily to internal clients. May include identifying areas of concern, recommendations and support of implementation.
Develops and interprets components of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts. Prepares budget/forecast presentation and other documentation. Supports analysis and review of key business drivers, pricing, product mix, profit center analysis, pro formas and evaluation of the risk profile of the business.
Prepares financial reports. Identifies, researches and explains variances to plan. Recommends and implements alternative reporting solutions.
Develops financial tools and models used for budgeting, forecasting, trend analysis & strategic planning. Has advanced level of enterprise-wide business systems knowledge to obtain and analyze complex data in the most efficient manner.
Recognized as a subject matter expert by the business having strong technical knowledge. Identifies and assesses improvement opportunities which will add value. Champions continuous improvement efforts. Assesses and supports the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements.
Primary internal clients are senior vice presidents, vice presidents, associate vice presidents, department heads, finance directors, senior finance managers and finance managers.
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent experience. Typically 7+ years related experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
• Master Business Administration (MBA) or MS in Accounting
• Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Excel; experienced with Microsoft Access
• Knowledge of Black & Veatch Systems (Hyperion, Oracle, etc.)
• Knowledge of percent complete accounting
