Primary Purpose:
Principal Process Engineer 7, Black & Veatch Corporation, Alpharetta, GA

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Act as lead process engineer on complex wastewater engineering projects. Successfully deliver process deliverables (e.g. mass and energy balance calculations, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, process modeling, life cycle costing.) Serve as subject matter expert in Thermal Hydrolysis providing expert process advice for advanced anaerobic digestion projects using Thermal Hydrolysis technology. Provide support for marketing of thermal hydrolysis proposals, preparing technical papers, attending conferences and giving technical presentations to clients. Approximately 5% of time spent in managing direct reports. No hire/fire authority.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field plus 6 years of related experience, or in the alternative, Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field plus 8 years of related experience. Must have Professional Engineering license in U.S., U.K., Canada, or jurisdiction with comparable registration requirements. Must have experience in water/wastewater treatment plant design. Must have at least five years’ experience working in: thermal hydrolysis technology, production of mass and energy balances, and steam system calculations. Must be experienced in the use of Biowin or comparable software for wastewater treatment plant modeling. Must have experience in senior role in the design and construction of at least one thermal hydrolysis plant. Must have experience working in THP environment working with biosolids, and advanced digestion systems. Must have good written and verbal communications skills in English.
