This Project Controls position will be assigned to either a role in Scheduling/Planning or Cost Engineering or a combination. Under general supervision, the individual performs project controls assignments according to training, capability and experience. With additional experience and demonstrated capabilities, the individual is expected to assist in the preparation of larger and more complex project controls assignments. Typically, an individual contributor, but may have supervisory duties and lead small/medium size projects (cost and/or scheduling activities).
• Maintain and may prepare cost/schedule reports
• Maintain and may lead collection of engineering production data or construction installed quantities
• Monitors scope change management process
• Maintains and may prepare Earned Value Management Reports
• Collect and maintains task completion dates and percent completes
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Understand EPC work process, construction concepts, and dependencies between functions. Develop project risk analysis skills. Understand Financial/Accounting reporting. May prepare forecasts under minimal supervision. Scheduling:
• Assists providing invoice back-up
• Maintains Project Cost Report and Cash Flow w/ Super.
• Assists with input to monthly/quarterly Reports.
• Facilitates quantity Mgmt reporting
• Maintains Change Mgmt Program
Four-year Bachelor's degree with one or more years of relevant Cost Control of Planning & Scheduling experience OR no four-year Bachelor's degree required with five years or more of relevant Cost Control or Planning & Scheduling experience in Home Office or Field Office. Preferred Job Qualifications:
Prefer four-year Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management. Preferred Non-Technical Competencies: • Written Communications • Standing Alone • Approachability • Problem Solving Preferred Technical Competencies: • Computer skills: Microsoft Office, Database Concepts and Scheduling Software if assigned to scheduling work. • Basic verbal and written communications skills: Good verbal and written communication skills for interaction with project teams. • Basic process execution: Understand transformation of data to information – Ability to visualize how data can be transformed into information in the production of project controls reports for use by project teams • Business systems maintenance: Understanding of how project controls issues relate to other company functions such as project accounting, procurement, QAQC, etc.
