The Telecommunications Division delivers telecommunication infrastructure solutions to utilities, local and state government agencies and the commercial wireless industry. Through a unique combination of experience, expert resources and innovative solutions, Black & Veatch supports the entire range of both legacy and emerging technologies used in today’s wireless and wireline networks, voice, video, Internet and data systems and utility automation.

Primary Purpose:
Responsible for providing intermediate level management reporting and analysis. Responsibilities may include consolidation and review of combined results and plans with a general understanding of variances. May be responsible for development and maintenance of financial tools and models. Works under minimal supervision to independently complete assigned tasks. Major component of role is developing and maintaining complex financial reporting tools and models, likely through Microsoft Access and PowerBi. Works under minimal supervision to establish and complete priorities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops financial tools and models used for budgeting, forecasting, trend analysis & strategic planning. Has advanced level of enterprise-wide business systems knowledge to obtain and analyze complex data in the most efficient manner.

Prepares and interprets financial data. Provides complex analysis and recommendations primarily to internal clients. May include identifying areas of concern, recommendations and support of implementation.

May develop and interpret components of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts. Prepares budget/forecast presentation and other documentation. Supports analysis and review of key business drivers, pricing, product mix, profit center analysis, pro formas and evaluation of the risk profile of the business.

Prepares financial reports. Identifies, researches and explains variances to plan. Recommends and implements alternative reporting solutions.

Demonstrates strong technical knowledge. May assists with review of policies and procedures. May assist with knowledge transfer and training for staff, as assigned. Informs supervisors of conflicting priorities.

Identifies and assesses improvement opportunities which will add value. Champions continuous improvement efforts.

Assesses and supports the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements.

Primary internal clients are senior vice presidents, vice presidents, associate vice presidents, department heads, finance directors, senior finance managers and finance managers

May serve in Project Accounting role on an as needed basis.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent experience. Typically 4+ years related experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Preferred Job Qualifications:
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel & PowerBi
• Knowledge of Black & Veatch Systems (Hyperion, Oracle, DSS etc.)
• Knowledge of percent complete accounting
• Strong Business Acumen
