Primary Purpose:
First professional-level position, with broader responsibilities in one or more related areas: marketing, communications, event coordination, branding, and proposal support. Understands the strategy/vision of the assigned work group. Works under limited supervision. Requires broader working knowledge of business practices and procedures in order to perform non-repetitive, analytical work of a moderately complex nature. Position uses a narrow application of principles, theories, concepts and draws on previous experience to determine a course of action. Participates in planning and scheduling to establish deadlines and ensures the timely completion of several independent tasks and short-term projects. Multiple tasks/projects are assigned and reviewed generally only upon completion. Tasks are more tactical in nature.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Leads the inventory, maintenance, creation of standard Q&E documents for assigned areas , portal data and related materials
• Develops and consistently implements effective processes to capture new awards in Q&E and update existing materials based on ongoing/completed projects
• Works with Supervisor to help ensure consistent proposal process deployment across division
• Trains others on best practices
• Works with others to ensure overall document polish and is responsible for overall quality of documents and materials submitted. Also develops/writes content as needed
• Diligently works with Sales and others on pursuit team to develop and memorialize solid, compelling value propositions
• Researches pertinent information as needed for qualifications and proposal preparation
• Establishes and drives proposal deadlines and division of responsibility independently and ensures the timely completion of proposals and other tasks
• Supports sales presentations as needed
• Researches and supports the development of internal communications articles
• Drives coordination and routine deployment of proposal related enhancements, including supporting graphics, images, callout boxes to punctuate sales messaging
• Periodically attends industry proposal conferences/events for best practices
• Attends pursuit strategy sessions for first hand understanding of approach and value propositions
• Arranges and leads proposal kickoff and other meetings with Proposal Managers, pursuit team

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, or a related field; or equivalent experience Experience: 2+ years related experience All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Preferred Job Qualifications:
• 3-5+ years of industry experience or 2-3+ years related Black & Veatch experience
• Strong organizational capabilities with attention to detail
• Solid understanding of value selling concepts
• Multi-media and graphics experience regarding proposal applications desired
• Self-starter, motivated and displays leadership skills
• Demonstrates working knowledge of expanded sales support and broader marketing and/or business applications through capabilities and understanding
• Comfortable working in a team environment, leading alone and defending positions
• Exceptional verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills
• Strong computer skills
• Schedule sensitive and deadline and detail oriented
• Ability to multi-task and cope with moderate to high level of stress
• Able to work overtime on short notice
