Primary Purpose:
Functions as a technical specialist or in a lead role. Under general direction, develops and applies advanced engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to complex engineering problems. May provide technical guidance over a group or supervise engineering staff on projects of low to medium complexity. May be responsible for developing, validating, and presenting specialist/technical output.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Act as Lead Mechanical Engineer and Rotating Equipment Engineer for oil and gas onshore & offshore projects, including the following: provide recommendation to selection, design and engineering for rotating equipment to clients and Black & Veatch offices; perform FEED (Front End Engineering Design) & Detailed Engineering for LNG projects, floating LNG project, refinery, petrochemical, power and Ammonia upgrade projects – Onshore & Offshore; perform FEED & detailed engineering for API pumps, centrifugal gas compressor, reciprocating gas compressor, rotary screw, gas turbines, steam turbines, instrument air compressor packages, packaged compressor skid with accessories; perform vendor bid evaluation, selection and recommendation for various rotating equipment; attend rotating equipment performance testing and other required tests to ensure that the equipment is designed and built to project requirements; prepare project specific design specifications for rotating equipment; co-ordinate design & engineering with inter-disciplines for packaged equipment; perform site visits to evaluate condition of exiting equipment and collect data for upgrade work; review PV Compress & exchanger HTRI equipment performance and results for optimum design. This position will also provide construction support and Commissioning & Start up for Oil & Gas projects, including the following: provide site support to equipment installation; execute static & dynamic commissioning at site for various rotating equipment & auxiliary systems; resolve installation, commissioning issues and provide root cause analysis for rotating equipment failures. Position involves some oversight of work product of junior engineers, but no supervisory, or hire/fire responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:
: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related plus eight years of related experience in the Oil & Gas industry. Experience must include: experience with front end engineering design and detailed engineering for Oil & Gas, LNG, refinery, petrochemical, and ammonia projects; experience with front end engineering design and detailed engineering for API pumps, centrifugal gas compressors, reciprocating gas compressors, rotary screw compressors, instrument air compressor packages, packaged compressor skid with accessories, API and industrial gas and steam turbines; experience with vendor bids. Must have experience with both onshore and offshore oil & gas facilities. Must have good written and verbal communications skills in English.
