Under close supervision, performs engineering functions requiring knowledge and experience in engineering principles. This level builds on experience gained as Engineer1 by either obtaining more depth in specific subject area with the expectation that assignments are larger and more complex, or by gaining experience in more subject areas.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Implements the latest Physical Substation design approaches on critical HV and EHV substation projects for the top domestic electric utility companies. Assist in producing engineering deliverables including equipment arrangement, calculations (bus, lightning protection, lighting), grounding design, EAP, and conduit plans. Position requires strong prior experience in preparation of those items.
Quality / Continuous Improvement: Promotes a culture that is conducive to quality.
Engineering Production: Accountable for engineering design for multiple substation projects.
Client Focus: Responsible for identifying key client interests and drivers on projects. Communicates client interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns. Works to identify future client needs and how to better position B&V to best serve those needs. Provides support to business development or pursuit activities.
Knowledge Sharing, Innovation and Technology: Serves as a technical specialist in the area of substation control and protective relaying design.
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 1 year related work experience All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
