Conduct organizational studies and evaluations, design systems and procedures, conduct work simplification and measurement studies in utility, energy and other industries involving cost/benefit analysis, market analysis, rate and regulatory support, litigation support, due diligence, and asset valuation.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct organizational studies and evaluations, design systems and procedures, conduct work simplification and measurement studies in utility, energy and other industries involving cost/benefit analysis, market analysis, rate and regulatory support, litigation support, due diligence, and asset valuation. Provide technical or industry knowledge to contribute to the completion of multiple engagement phases for such projects. Demonstrate capabilities with moderate level of oversight and collaboration with more senior level professionals. Work on projects that are generally small or medium sized. May have responsibility for a smaller portion of a larger project. May be responsible for project profit and loss and project schedule. Support sales by scoping and budgeting projects. Build long term client relationships. Assist with proposals, statement of works and task orders. Will interview clients and gather specific data. Analyze financial, engineering and operational data to prepare rate cases, business cases and other regulatory filings. Draft responses to interrogatories, review testimonies, policies, orders and other regulatory documents. Present reports and analysis to clients. Monitor progress, advise clients and support regulatory proceedings as needed. Will also utilize industry-accepted databases as appropriate; apply methods or recognized equivalents as appropriate to meet specific needs of the clients and as individual engagements demand; support project managers by aligning individual and team contribution with client needs and overall engagement objectives; interact with client, as required and to discuss engagement scope/methodology and present findings; and communicate (orally and written) among project team members and clients, as required; and balance working on numerous project simultaneously. No direct reports or supervisory authority.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (with emphasis in Finance), Finance, Engineering, or related discipline, plus six years of related work experience, including experience in a business/consulting environment. Must have experience in project management, rate design, demand side management in regulatory industries; statistical forecasting, load research, sample design, Monte-Carlo simulations; asset management, cost benefit analysis, triple bottom line analysis; performance benchmarking and financial modeling for advising transactions. Advanced Microsoft Excel skill level. Must have experience in using statistical analysis software such as SPSS and SAS; and Monte-Carlo analysis tools such as @Risk; and econometric forecasting tools such as ForecastPro. Involves travel to project sites up to 100% of the time. Must have good written and verbal communications skills in English.
