Job Summary
This project is located in Harriman, TN and requires mobilizing to the site for project duration.
Union or Union management experience is strongly preferred.
3+ Years of Labor Relations experience is strongly preferred.
This Union Labor Relations Professional works on the assigned construction project site with the site team to
ensure that BVCI's internal Labor Relations policies are being followed. Will handle several site union employee
labor matters on the project with NABTU and UBC (“Building Trades”) union employees including, but not limited
to, the resolution of labor agreement questions or concerns, contract discrepancies, dispute resolution and deescalation,
work scope jurisdiction, management of local hall referrals, documenting union employee discipline,
union payroll issues, and keeping the Site Manager, Construction Manager, Labor Relations Manager and/or
Director abreast on all labor activity for assigned project.

Key Responsibilities
- Works with site team and Labor Relations to implement union labor employment policies as defined in BVCI
procedure documents, jobsite rules, safety rules, company policies, and project labor agreement.
Collaborates with site team and Local Union representatives to resolve jurisdictional work assignment issues
with union craft.
Serves as a primary point of contact between site team and Local Building Trades.
May manage the processes and reporting of information and key performance indicators for project.
Handles fact finding, collection of witness statements, and other information for union employee discipline,
grievances, EEOC charges, maintains files.
Works with site and corporate payroll to resolve payroll matters for union employees including collection and
updating of project wage/fringe rates for each Building Trade and interpretation of labor agreement rules for
pay and work hours.
Manages the communication with Local Union Halls for manpower requests, union craft referrals, and specific
skills.
Attends and actively participates in Building Trades meetings for Pre-Job Conferences, periodic project
meetings, and work scope mark-up meetings.
May be required to travel from time to time to assist with other Labor Relations matters. Expected to be at their
respective site until tasked with other assignments.
May work with proposal team collecting wage/fringe information
Management Responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
4-year college degree preferred. Industrial construction experience preferred; Similar experience dealing with labor agreements, local union halls, and/or large teams of directly hired union craft preferred.
Preferred skills:

- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Negotiation experience
- Experience dealing with Unions
- Experience with Union Contracts
- Solid writing skills
- This person must have the ability to deal with multiple personalities of differing prefessional levels and to handle difficult interpersonal situations
- Understanding of construction.
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years relevant experience; Bachelor's Degree in Labor Relations is equivalent to the experience requirement.

Certifications
Union Apprenticeship Program completion preferred; Current or past union member preferred.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
Physical Demands:
- Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, Kneel, Bend, Stoop, Move, and Walk long distances in and around confined, cluttered places, and uneven areas.
- See and hear naturally or with correction.
- Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties.
- Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls according to a set procedure.
- Requires repetitive movement.
- May require work above 5 feet in height.
- Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
- Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.

- Requires working in cramped work spaces and getting into awkward positions.
- Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32F degrees) temperatures and exposure to inclement weather such as dust, wind, snow, rain, etc.
- Requires working in extremely bright or low lighting conditions
- Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
- Work around hazardous equipment.
