Job Summary
Responsible for directing or managing various Storm support operational aspects for Storm division. Operational areas may include various functions such as office operations, administration, budgets, staffing, legal, human resources, and safety. Ensures policies, procedures, and processes are effectively developed, implemented, and communicated, as applicable. Specific responsibilities may vary by division.
Key Responsibilities
Plays strong role in developing and coordinating Storm division’s Strategic Plan, Operations Plan, and in establishing Goals & Commitments. Oversees Storm day-to-day implementation of plan to ensure that division has adequate support structure, such as administrative, legal, human resources, safety, marketing and sales support, along with actual storm events. * Coordinates, influences, and/or monitors budgets for overhead, capital expenditures, office leases, and furniture. Responsible for operations, planning and forecasting. * Evaluates and aligns financial and human capital resources to meet current and future business needs, while balancing overhead and productivity goals. Oversees or influences employment practices (hiring, promoting, terminating, reductions in force). May determine or influence opening/closing of offices. May assign storm projects or storm resources amongst various groups based on workload demands. * Oversees budget, procurement, and technology related to computers, phones, software/hardware, and supplies, as well as monitoring of expenses related to areas of responsibility. * Assists in managing various functions such as office operations and office space. Assesses and improves office operations and ensures effective use of resources including financial and human capital. Serves as advisor to management regarding unit operational effectiveness. Oversees office space planning. * Administers legal and human resource functions ensuring issues are handled applying principles of employment law. * Responsible for managing storm division safety program by establishing safety plan, defining safety training requirements, monitoring safety practices and compliance for professionals, and enforcing corporate safety goals. * Develops, implements, administers, and/or monitors division’s policies, procedures and practices. Ensures policies are enforced and approves exceptions as appropriate. Assesses and recommends changes. Enforces corporate policies, procedures and business practices. * Ensures effective internal communications related to storm division operations. * Responsible for developing storm staffing and recruiting strategy. Monitoring the weather to be proactive for storm responses. Coordinates with Business Line Managers in developing staffing and recruiting plans. Ensures projects are adequately staffed, professionals are developed, recruiting support is provided, and resources are allocated timely and efficiently. * Works proactively to ensure smooth employee relations within division. Addresses typical employee relations issues. Serves as advisor and counselor to division management regarding personnel issues and unit operational effectiveness. Interfaces with Division HR Director on issues more complex or which may have legal implications. * Develops and implements personnel development and training strategy for Storm Division, including identifying and anticipating future developmental needs, and succession planning. * Oversees or coordinates merit and bonus programs and processes for division, ensuring competitiveness and internal equity while adhering to budget and corporate guidelines. Advises President and department heads. May approve compensation actions including merit increases, promotions, bonuses and salary adjustments. * Implements or oversees implementation of storm division’s performance management program, including goal cascading process, rating calibration, individual development plans, rewards and recognition, disciplinary actions, terminations and related timelines. * Acts as Storm division’s liaison to other divisions and corporate support services. Coordinates support or shared services, such as Human Resources, Sales & Marketing, Legal, Administration, and Finance. * Has significant interaction with internal contacts such as Division Management and Corporate Management/Staff. Has some interaction with external contacts.
Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably business or HR-related. MBA preferred.
10+ years related experience in business operations, HR, or finance. Supervisory experience preferred. Experience in running a large department or office preferred.
