Job Summary

RDiode Ventures is currently seeking an experienced data center development professional to take a leadership role in sourcing and managing turnkey data center and fiber infrastructure projects. The individual will engage with new and existing clients and ensure that our high-quality, client-centric approach delivers on all stake holders’ expectations.
This is an ideal opportunity for an entrepreneurial, experienced leader with deep expertise in data center development to play an instrumental role in driving the development strategy of Diode Ventures and creating new projects for some of the most progressive technology companies in the world.
The primary responsibilities of this role are (1) business development: building and maintaining a pipeline of prospective tenants and partners, (2) deal making: finding, leasing and/or acquiring sites and matching them to a tenant; negotiating and closing contracts, and (3) project management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Candidates interested in this role should demonstrate the following competencies and the ability to fulfill the described responsibilities:
    (1) Relationship Management and Business Development
    • Develop and execute on a client sourcing and relationship strategy to identify and work with high-quality technology companies.
    • Partner with clients to understand their financing preferences, project objectives, sustainability plans, and growth strategies in order to guide them through the site selection and commitment process.
    • Manage client relationships and engage with company leadership at the staff and board levels to drive Diode Ventures and prospective clients to a development deal.
    (2) Deal Negotiation and Execution
    • Develop and execute innovative site-sourcing strategies, including managing commercial real estate brokers, forging partnerships with local real estate developers and looking for off-market opportunities
    • Conduct preliminary site due diligence including architectural, engineering, environmental, and economic feasibility with the support of the Black & Veatch business.
    • Lead negotiations of equitable deal terms and execute contracts.
    • Coordinate and handoff projects to construction team and facilitate periodic touchpoints to monitor project against plan.
    (3) Project Management
    • Identify and manage pre-development risk.
    • Oversee the management of the development of each project, bringing Clients from pipeline relationships through to completed operations.
    • Facilitate the coordination between the various internal Black & Veatch teams and departments working on and supporting the delivery of turnkey development projects, including design, construction, finance, legal and internal approvals.
    • Present projects to Black & Veatch executive leadership for approval

Management Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in related field. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • The candidate should be currently recognized in the marketplace as an experienced developer with excellent market knowledge and a proven track record of establishing and maintaining positive broker and customer relationships. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
    Bachelor’s degree required.
    8+ years of work experience, with a track-record of leading real estate deals. Experience in Southeast Asia a plus.
    Recent experience in the data center and telecommunications sector is required.
    Excellent written and oral communications skills.
    Exceptional organizational skills.
    Successful experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
    Proven track-record of working in a complex and dynamic organization.
    Demonstrated commitment to public policy, public education, and public-sector work.

    LOCATION: Flexible; Southeast Asia preferred, up to 50% travel time
