Job Summary

  • Be able to perform all the principal duties and accountabilities of craft workers under his/her supervision.

  • Monitors, verifies, and reports on construction activities for compliance with the CPM schedule; tracks and reports on completion of project schedule activities and commodity installation.

  • Assists craft in resolving problems and reports on issues related to drawings and information, schedule, quality, quantity tracking, cost reporting, and safety. Monitors discipline construction productivity, progress, and cost, and reports to Construction Manager and Field Project Controls Manager Takes necessary actions to maintain targets.

  • Conducts foreman/General Foreman meetings to review/assist in daily, weekly, and monthly planning. Develops and monitors 3 Week Look Ahead Schedule for assigned work scope. Develops corrective plan to ensure progress and productivity targets are met. Verifies that all material, manpower and resources needed to support the 3 Week Look Ahead Schedule are available and on site. Develops, monitors, and reports on completion of craft/subcontractor punch list activities. Maintains a daily log for site records.

  • Reviews all craft timesheets, installed quantity reports, and progress payment requests. Monitors supplier Technical Service Representative (supplier) daily log and reviews/approves their timesheets. Communicates and coordinates assigned craft daily and weekly work plans with other discipline Superintendents/Facilitators and Construction Manager.

  • Develops and distributes a Job Hazard Analysis for major packages within scope. Identifies potential back charges and out of scope issues and reports to Construction Manager 

  • Lead and support all safety related processes and programs as requested. Engage with your work team to ensure we achieve zero injuries. No job is so important that your safety and that of your crew will be compromised. Watch for hazards and report any concerns to your supervisor or safety professional. If needed, use your stop work authority until the issue is resolved.

  • Be proficient in scheduling, material control, unit man‐hour performance, estimating fundamentals, and job cost management in the Field Process Management System (FPMS).

  • Be able to create and execute a 4-week schedule and monitor the foreman’s one-week schedule.

  • Monitor/plan crew goals and proactively make changes necessary to keep crews on track with goals.

  • Participate in incident investigations and report accidents and act to prevent future occurrences to project management and site safety. Assist in leading the investigation process as needed and review accidents and the causes with employees.

  • Lead, complete, and sign off on daily pre‐job safety planning in the appropriate format. Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or mitigate hazards. Assure all crew members understand, participate, and sign all pre‐job safety planning tools at start and end of shift.

  • Understand and respond appropriately to all safety hazards and warning devices (i.e. back‐up alarms, smell of smoke, different colored warning tags, warning sirens).

  • Understand, support, implement, and follow lockout/tag out procedures. Attend site specific training and assure you follow all procedures as out lined in training.

  • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.

  • NCCER Fundamentals of Crew Leadership
  • NCCER Project Supervision
  • NCCER Project Management

Minimum Qualifications

At least 6 years of experience working in an electrician role or higher. Experience working as a journeyman and supervisor in similar craft, and a strong working knowledge of the electrical crafts. Must have a strong working knowledge of the electrical craft and the National Electrical Code (NEC). Should have all necessary licenses for the jurisdiction in which the work is to be performed. Must set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality, and productivity for the members of his/her crew. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Stand, Kneel, Bend, Stoop, move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas, see and hear naturally or with correction.

  • Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties.

  • Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls according to a set procedure.

  • Requires repetitive movement.

  • Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.

  • Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.

  • Typical construction site environment

  • Requires working in cramped workspaces and getting into awkward positions.

  • Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32F degrees) temperatures and exposure to inclement weather such as dust, wind, snow, rain, etc.

  • Requires working in extremely bright or low lighting conditions.

  • Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.

  • Work around hazardous equipment.

  • This position is considered a safety sensitive position.
