Job Summary

Functions in an entry level capacity. Under close supervision, supports engineering teams by performing technical tasks that require basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices. Utilizes digital tools, design software (CAD, BIM, 3D tools, etc.), and standardized procedures to assist in the creation, modification, and maintenance of technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

Prepares engineering deliverables such as drawings and 3D model under close supervision using AutoCAD, Bentley and other relevant software.
Learn and apply fundamental engineering principles and established design practices to develop or modify less complex to moderately complex design concepts and deliverables.
Apply knowledge of applicable standards, systems, document control requirements, departmental guidelines, and relevant codes in compliance with Black & Veatch policies and procedures.
Ensure all deliverables comply with project-specific codes, standards, and technical requirements.
Perform self-checks and proactively apply the Black & Veatch Quality Program to assigned deliverables.
Begin working more independently while coordinating with engineers and other designers to interpret design concepts and support drawing revisions as required.
Coordinates with other design group personnel to review and exchange project information necessary for design development.
Provide support for field activities when required.

Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering design discipline.
0+ years of experience as an Electrical Design Technician or in a related role.
Proficient in AutoCAD or other relevant design software.
Proficiency in Microsoft and Adobe/Bluebeam.
Able to communicate in English both speaking and writing.
If familiar with Bentley, MicroStation and Navisworks will be an advantage.
Experience on Substation Projects will be an advantage.#LI-RK1

Preferred Qualifications

Basic understanding of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline.
Basic knowledge of EPC Infrastructure (Power Plant, Utilities, Renewable etc.) or Oil GAS.
Willing and able to travel or work at construction sites as required

Minimum Qualifications

Diploma or Certificate preferred. Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
