Job Summary

As part of BV Operations and supporting BV’s Energy & Process business, this Chattanooga based team is driven to meet clients’ rapidly changing infrastructure needs in hydropower generation. Our business continues to invest in renewable energy to power the future and support BV’s vision of more sustainable solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Electrical design for hydropower projects
  • Provide technical guidance on client standards and expectations to engineering and technician staff that are supporting project detailed design
  • Serve in a technical role in hydropower client consultations
  • Support business development related to enhanced hydropower services
  • Build business relationships with clients to understand needs and drivers

Additional Project Opportunities:

  • Studies –Power System Coordination and Arc Flash Hazard Analysis
  • Construction inspection and resolution of electrical construction issues
  • Review of supplier submittals
  • Act as a liaison between the local design team, client and remote design teams for Electrical design
  • Startup and testing experience of major electrical equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • 8+ years in electrical design, planning and construction services
  • Consulting and hydropower generation experience preferred
  • Experience in generator protection, power systems analysis, protective relaying, low/medium voltage switchgear, cable sizing and transformer design  
  • Experience in a client-facing/business development role

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 8 years related work experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
