Job Summary

Black and Veatch Ltd. is one of the UK's leading engineering and environment consultancies, specialising in water, energy and environment projects. We are seeking an experienced Water Specialist at Principal or above level to lead and expand our in-house water assessment offering, working alongside our team of senior and graduate water specialists within our multi-disciplinary Environmental team at either our Redhill, Chester or Bradford on Avon Offices

 

Full Time or Part Time will be considered for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overseeing water monitoring programmes (e.g. groundwater and surface water quality surveys, water level surveys, geomorphology surveys)
  • Overseeing production of Water Framework Directive Compliance Assessments to support environmental assessments
  • Overseeing and developing water quality models (groundwater and surface water)
  • Managing Water Industry National Environment Programme (WINEP) water quality management projects
  • Providing input to designs for environmental mitigation and enhancement projects and well as Natural Flood Risk Management projects
  • Ability to understand and apply analytical tools and models and manage data
  • Lead on business development opportunities in relation to water management and provide a lead role on bids and proposals in relation to this;
  • Liaising with project teams, clients, stakeholders and the public as required;
  • Providing a mentoring/supervisory role to more junior members of our team.
Minimum Qualifications
  • have an environmental related degree;
  • be a Chartered member of a relevant institute;
  • excellent written and oral communication;
  • experience of Water Framework Directive Compliance Assessments
  • experience of water quality modelling and assessment (groundwater and surface water) would be desirable.
  • experience of WINEP projects, catchment management planning/schemes/projects and understanding of Ecosystems Approach and Natural Capital would be desirable
  • hold a full UK driving licence.

 

We would be happy to also consider candidates who have a water specialism but also have a wider interest in environmental impact assessment.
