The Opportunity

In this role, you will have the opportunity to: 

  • Act as owner's representative/project manager developing engineering scopes and managing 3rd party design/engineering firms
  • Develop and apply advanced engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to unique engineering problems
  • Interface directly with the client on all technical aspects of the project including the management of change associated with the project scope, cost and contract terms 
  • Supervise project budget, schedule, technical output and performance of third-party A-E's on projects of medium to high complexity

The Team

This role will be a part of BV Operations.  The foundation of BV Operations provides the ability for professional to move where their skills are needed and allows for a collaborative and innovative culture offering greater challenges and career development opportunities.  BV Operations as a group supports all three market sectors at BV - Governments & Environment, Energy & Process Industries, and Connectivity, Commercial & Industrial.  Within BV Operations, this role will be a part of the Civil Infrastructure sub-discipline and will be focused on the design, procurement and construction of a variety of water infrastructure support efforts including, but not limited to, treatment facilities, conveyance/collection systems, and Program Management.

Key Responsibilities


  ● Engineering Production:

  • Supervise third-part A-E delivery of a variety of complex engineering deliverables for multiple or mega projects.
  • Performs complex research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
  • Oversees collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work.
  • Prepares complex engineering scopes following standard methods and principles.
  • Develops and Manages budget, schedule, and quality requirements and prepares related scopes for project
  • Leads advanced engineering solutions to complex problems.
  • Reviews 3rd party A-E engineering work or assignments as owner's representative.
  • Responsible for one or more of the following: leading production teams; coordinating multiple discipline activity; and serving as the responsible charge for projects. Establishes work plan to be applied to a given project. 

 ● Project Coordination:

  • Actively coordinates with all other internal/external team members on complex projects.
  • Typically responsible for defining and meeting project schedules for multiple disciplines. 

 ● Client Focus:

  • Responsible for determining identification of key client interests and drivers on projects.
  • Communicates client interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work on moderately complex projects.
  • Focuses on client's current needs and situations.
  • May offer other services to the client.
  • Typically provides support to business development or pursuit activities.
  • Actively manages project changes directly with the Client with supervision from the Program Manager. 

 ● Quality / Continuous Improvement:

  • Independently applies knowledge and ensures compliance with client and B&V quality program.
  • Establishes related processes and promotes a culture that is conducive to quality.
  • Supports continuous improvement and change management efforts. 

Preferred Qualifications

  •  Active FL P.E. license or eligible for FL P.E. reciprocity
  • 5+years design experience
  • Project Management, Engineering Management, or discipline design lead on $10M in cumulative stormwater, roads, or bridges projects; at least 1 project >2M construction value

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
  • Minimum of 8 years related work experience.
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Typical office environment, typical construction environment, extreme weather conditions, high noise level, safety hazards (electric currents, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation).  Sitting, walking, talking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, driving, filing, reaching, stooping, crouching, bending, standing for extended periods of time, lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds.
