Job Summary

Join Black & Veatch as a Construction Technology Intern, where you’ll support the implementation and optimization of digital tools and platforms used in field construction. This role blends hands-on field exposure with cutting-edge technology applications, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to smarter, safer, and more efficient project delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities

You’ll collaborate with field superintendents and technology specialists to:

  • Assist in deploying and maintaining construction management software (e.g., Ineight, AutoDesk Construction Cloud, etc.).
  • Support data collection and reporting using mobile apps, drones, sensors, and IoT devices.
  • Help digitize workflows such as daily logs, material tracking, and progress updates.
  • Troubleshoot and train field teams on technology tools and platforms.
  • Analyze field data to improve productivity, safety, and quality outcomes.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Skills:

  • Preferred Technology Focus. 
  • Passion for technology and innovation in construction.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication (written and verbal).
  • Self-starter with attention to detail and initiative.
  • Familiarity with construction software or platforms is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of data visualization or coding (e.g., Power BI, Python, Excel macros) is a bonus.

Minimum Qualifications

Current enrollment in accredited university in Construction/Management Engineering program. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

This internship can be either office based or field-based, with exposure to both rugged outdoor environments and digital collaboration tools. You must be willing to relocate for summer 2025 and have reliable transportation and travel to various construction sites around North America.
