Job Summary

Provide environmental support through the development of performance of field studies, environmental assessments and completion of permit/license applications for domestic or international projects. Candidates from requisition 44321 will also be considered for this role. 

The EDGE Program provides early-career professionals a unique combination of at least 3 rotational job experiences over 3-4 years, structured training curriculum, and direct access to business leaders. The program is intended to accelerate career progression and broaden the development of participants promoting a successful career at BV.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for acquiring and managing data in the field, management and evaluation of data in the office, reading technical specifications, and supporting report preparation.
  • Support groundwater modeling, surface water evaluations, report writing, and other hydrogeology related tasks.
  • Field lead for all types of well construction and testing projects (i.e. water supply, injection, aquifer storage and recovery, etc.) and supervising well drilling contractors.
  • At times, there will be projects that require 80% field work and 20% office related activities with the possibility of 100% field work.
  • Plan and organize well construction including managing Black & Veatch resources, well drilling contractors, and acquiring and organizing field data.
  • Perform multimedia sampling, rock classification, and field laboratory analysis.
  • Conduct hydrogeological analysis on pump test data.
  • Evaluate field and literature data, and support report preparation, including preparation of graphical and tabular summaries of field data.
  • Comply with company safety program and policies.
  • Support in office activities including preparation of supporting documents for water use permit applications and water resources master plans.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Competencies:

  • Proficient in Microsoft WORD and EXCEL.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Capable of being in the field for up to 12-hours in hot/humid conditions to oversee and document well construction/testing activities

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 0 to 3 years of professional experience performing field work involving well drilling, ground water modeling, rock classification, and hydrogeological evaluations

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors' degree in Geology, Geoscience, Earth Science or Environmental Science. 

All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

  • Must have a 4 year degree
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • Must have less than 2 years professional experience relevant to BV
  • Required intermittent travel to project sites
  • Required short-term and long-term relocation to project sites and regional offices
  • All applicants must have work authorization and will not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa
