Job Summary

Supports the Fleet Maintenance & Logistics Manager and overall department leadership with day-to-day fleet asset management, including maintenance scheduling, rental coordination, and logistics operations for BV-owned and rented equipment. This role oversees mechanics, logistic and fleet staff, and coordinates with third-party vendors to minimize unplanned maintenance and support project needs. The supervisor ensures that assets are properly tracked, maintained, and available for use to optimize fleet productivity and minimize downtime. Works closely with project teams to ensure smooth fleet operations. #LI-KC1 #FleetSupervisor #construction

Key Responsibilities

• Executes the maintenance schedules for fleet assets to minimize both planned and unplanned maintenance downtime. • Assists in planning and coordinating transportation of fleet vehicles and equipment, ensuring compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations. • Supports the Fleet Maintenance & Logistics Manager and the department overall with tracking new asset arrivals, branding, DOT inspections, and in-service procedures. • Supports alignment in maintenance scheduling of owned assets regarding planning and site support to projects. • Supervises the receipt and in-service of new assets as it relates to receiving, branding, DOT inspections, and all requirements when BV Fleet assets or rentals arrive to the maintenance facility or on project site. • Coordinates the logistics for retiring and decommissioning assets, including reporting and documentation. • Supervises mechanics and or third-party vendors to ensure timely maintenance and optimized asset performance. • Assists the Fleet Asset Manager in asset performance reviews to ensure strategic asset ownership is positively impacting project performance. • Provides input for reviews, and recommends manufacture standardization based on mechanic input, parts availability, asset ownership value, performance, and overall return on investment. • Aligns with BV fleet management and procurement to develop parts and maintenance agreements to optimize BV maintenance support. • Oversees the rental request, review, and closure to ensure efficient asset utilization and accurate equipment availability to projects. • Reviews and updates fleet management systems with current information on asset status, rentals, and availability. • Ensures the fleet asset, rental, project, and or procurement systems are updated as needed. o Supports rental processes, including equipment request, review, and closure to ensure project requirements are met. • Responsible for the review of asset ownership upstream fleet equipment project planning to ensure forecasting of owned equipment and rental needs are met. • Evaluates vendor performance as it relates to maintenance support, parts availability, ordering accuracy, estimated to actual arrival on site as required.  o Provides input on parts and maintenance agreements to help optimize fleet operations. • Assists with the creation of service level agreements, to ensure proper billing, maintenance, utilization, and asset review are documented, reviewed, and agreed to by BV Fleet and the projects supported. • Supervises, trains, and evaluates assigned staff in fleet asset management.  o Trains and supports assigned staff as needed. • Related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Supply Chain, Business, Technical, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)

  o Associates degree or relevant technical training in Fleet Management, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (preferred).

• Relevant experience may be substituted for a degree.

  o Understanding of DOT regulations and fleet maintenance processes.

• Construction Fleet Management experience

• Global experience preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum five (5) years relevant experience without a degree. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Typical construction site or office environment. Able to work in a fast paced environment. Able to work extended work weeks at project's discretion. Relocation may be required.
