The Fleet Operations Controller will support the Black and Veatch Fleet Operations in Supporting and coordinating the management and compliance of Black and Veatch's fleet operations. They will Support in ensuring compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and IFTA regulations, manage driver compliance programs, oversee vehicle maintenance requirements, and optimize fleet software programs to capture and analyze fleet asset cost and performance. They will also Support in managing fleet asset management, total cost of ownership, and asset standardization.
The Fleet Operations Coordinator will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to clients who use Black and Veatch's fleet services. They will ensure that all client inquiries and concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner. This role is in office 5 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
* Support in ensuring compliance with regulatory, safety, and operational standards related to fleet management across all job sites. * Support in managing driver compliance programs, including driver logging and maintenance inspection programs. * Support in optimizing fleet software programs to capture and analyze fleet asset cost and performance. * Support in managing fleet asset licensing, IFTA, and registration programs. * Support in asset accident management program for owned and rented assets. * Support in communicating BV Fleet Operations policies and procedures. * Work as a liaison between BV Fleet Operations, procurement, and projects to ensure efficient fleet operations support. * Support in managing rental and purchase agreements, vendor performance and compliance, and asset standardization. * Support in training, and evaluating staff in fleet management, compliance, and asset management. * Support in overseeing equipment planning, forecasting, rental coordination, and transportation logistics of BV owned and rented equipment. * Support in ensuring proper maintenance planning, scheduling, and coordination with maintenance staff and third-party vendors. * Support in managing fuel card program and ensuring accurate fuel usage reporting. * Support in carrying out planned maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize productivity. * Support in preparing for external audits or inspections by regulatory agencies and follow up on findings to ensure timely resolution. * Support in serving as point of contact for compliance-related inquiries from fleet staff and site management. * Support in managing the rental program, including planning, forecasting, and coordination of rental equipment. * Ensure accurate rental tracking and repair of rental equipment. * Work with rental companies to supply forecasting of BV rental needs. * Review monthly rental reports to ensure proper utilization targets are met. * Support in tracking total cost of ownership for all assets and optimizing asset management practices. * Support with the billing processes of the department as needed. * Provide exceptional customer service to clients who use Black and Veatch's fleet services. * Related duties as assigned.
Management Responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
• Associates degree in business, Logistics, or related field and/or 3+ years of experience in fleet management, compliance, or related field.
• Experience with DOT, FMCSA, and IFTA regulations
• Proficient in fleet management software programs
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to travel to project locations for audits and inspections.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of three (3) years DOT and/or Fleet administration.
