Job Summary

Functions in a senior level engineering technician capacity. With minimal supervision, performs advanced functions requiring knowledge and use of electronic applications, standards and document control processes/procedures in support of creating and modifying deliverables. May provide technical guidance and direction to other engineering professionals including delegation of work assignments.

Key Responsibilities

Highly proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D for civil engineering projects including the drafting of plans, elevations, sections and engineering details.  Development of site drainage, utility plans and grading drawings. 

Producing or amending drawings accurately and efficiently according to the design brief. Support continuous improvement.  Review of design inputs to ensure consistency. 

Ensuring that your drawings are clear, consistent, and unambiguous.

Adherence to companywide ISO 9001 quality standards, CAD standards, procedures and specific design management plans. This will include ensuring all drawings are saved in the correct locations, with correct numbering and ensuring the necessary document registers are populated and maintained.

Assist with coordination as required with other design team members to review and exchange project information necessary for design development. 

Be responsible for managing the Check-Review-Approve process of the drawings and populating the relevant document management information.

Support and work with the multinational team in UK CAD standards.

Checking for formatting issues when working with overseas CAD teams including scaling, title block issues, drawing frames, and units.

Regularly and accurately reporting the status of drawings to project management.

Basic knowledge of construction and constructability practices and principles.

Provision of technical guidance and may provide direction to other CAD professionals.

Focuses on the needs of internal clients while understanding external client's main interests and drivers.

Proactively seeks and shares knowledge of latest technologies and processes.

Preferred Qualifications

All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

CAD qualification such as Diploma or Certificate (such as HND or HNC) in Drafting, Engineering Design or a Construction related course is preferred.

Typically, a minimum of 5 years related work experience. Experience in the delivery of drawings for civil engineering project developments in accordance with the pre-defined budgets, deadlines and quality requirements.

Site experience or civil consultancy experience would be an advantage, however not a prerequisite.
