The Opportunity 
The EPC Project Manager for Solar BESS will function in a mid-level project manager capacity. You will own the bottom-line for EPC projects encompassing Solar/ BESS EPC and BESS services. There is also potential to own projects in transmission, distribution, substations, and private networks. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: 

  • Execute projects that have substantial impact within various communities.
  • Own a diversity of projects within the electric grid space including both innovative and proven technologies. 

Please note: This role has 25% to 50% travel to project and client sites. When not travelling, this role will be hybrid: 3 days per week in-office out of any Black & Veatch UK office.

Key Responsibilities

Our project managers are responsible for the overall bottom-line performance of assigned projects. 

  • Actively promote Black & Veatch's safety culture.
  • Serve as the key resource for executive management advisory on overall project health.
  • Oversee planning, developing, issuing, and progress tracking of all assigned projects from contract execution through commercial operation.
  • Work with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction to identify and resolve problems or issues related to design information, schedule, material deliveries, change management, safety, and quality.
  • Manage escalated problems or issues.
  • Own commercial recovery process and close-out.
  • Manage the application of quality and control procedures.

Management Responsibilities

Acts as a project manager. Among responsibilities is management of a project team. The individual comprising this team may vary by project.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Several years industry experience including Solar or BESS EPC (preferably both) and/or services project management.
  • Experience managing engineering, procurement, and construction for EPC projects.
  • Experience managing construction teams directly in a direct-hire and/or agency/ subcontractor construction environment.
  • Experience being the single point-of-contact, including managing the bottom-line, for multiple EPC and/or services projects from cradle-to-grave.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Typical office environment, typical construction environment, extreme weather conditions, high noise level, safety hazards (electric currents, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation).  Sitting, walking, talking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, driving, filing, reaching, stooping, crouching, bending, standing for extended periods of time, lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds.
