Job Summary

The Oil & Gas Market Manager is responsible for prospecting to find and then qualify new sales leads to enhance the sales funnel within the Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) and Ammonia business lines within Oil & Gas. This individual will be a highly motivated, self-starter able to identify new business prospects from multiple sources including prospect lists, discovery and individual research.

Key Responsibilities
  • In partnership with business unit leadership, support the growth strategy for LNG and Ammonia opportunities.
  • Research potential new clients and identify upcoming project opportunities for Black & Veatch.
  • Identify specific new bid opportunities and complete 1st level qualification of leads for LNG and Ammonia opportunities.
    • Leads should be focused on Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) opportunities or Pre-Front End Engineering Design (pre-FEED) and FEED work that will lead to EPC opportunities. 
      • Leads should be sourced from Global contacts, but EPC projects will be focused in North America, Southeast Asia and India.  EPC opportunities outside of these areas will be considered opportunistic.
      • Leads must be identified early enough in the sales cycle to allow positioning, but no so far in advance qualification cannot take place.
      • 1st level Lead qualification includes:
        • Contact information for decision makers
        • Project timing
        • Status of financing
  • Track lead generation activity in CRM tool, with accurate and timely information.
  • Partner with Regional General Managers, Proposal Managers, and business leaders to finalize qualification.
  • Attend and participate in industry trade shows, special events, and conferences.
  • Determines personnel within client organization to cultivate relationships to obtain new business opportunities.
  • Conducts all dealings with prospective clients with professionalism, integrity and high ethical standards.
Management Responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
  • An understanding of the EPC business; specific experience in construction or engineering is not required.
  • Should be able to demonstrate relationships with global contacts in the LNG business; contacts in the Ammonia business is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to build rapport and strong relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Self-motivated; strong time-management and planning skills.
  • Ability to think strategically.
  • Ability to complete B&V sales training curriculum.

Location: Houston is preferred but any location can be considered.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 5 years’ work experience focused on market research and analytics or business development.
