Job Summary

The primary objective of this Position Plan is to outline position responsibilities and measures of success required to achieve our new business growth and profitability for a Program Management service offering, while offering exceptional value to the clients we serve in meeting their Program delivery objectives.

Position Objectives

The overall position objective includes contributing to significant new business growth for a Program Management service offering in the Central Region by strengthening existing client relationships, developing new client relationships, and leading strategy development and implementation of pursuit and capture plans for key opportunities that bring new business into the firm.  As noted in a subsequent section of this position plan, a key measure of success will be the volume of new business PGM delivered on an annual basis with an expectation of annual growth year over year of 10 to 15%.  Other key objectives of this position will be strengthening earned revenue and profitability for Program Management in the East, and expanding the tools and resources needed to provide exceptional service to our clients.  In addition to the strong focus on the Program Management service offering, the position requires support to other service offerings in planning, asset management, design, and construction management for facilities, linear infrastructure, and hydropower.  Further details on the role and responsibility follow.

Key Responsibilities

Assignments include:

  1. Strengthen the brand of a Black & Veatch service offering for Program Management in the Central Region.  Maintain visibility in external market with clients and partners and serve as an internal champion for Program Management with the Central Region Managing Director and Sub-Region Directors, as well as Client Directors and Project Managers in the Central Region.
  2. Communicate and coordinate regularly with other Business Leaders and support program development that leverages early planning and/or feasibility stage involvement in programs.
  3. With other Business Leaders, support the development of programs based on thought leadership and innovation that addresses project and program drivers based on anticipated client needs.
  4. Build strong client relationships with both internal and external clients.  Lead or support early program opportunity identification, development of pursuit and capture plans, strategy development, and pre-positioning.
  5. Identify gaps and suggest improvements to the current tools and processes employed by BV to deliver a Program.  Drive consistency in program delivery capability.
  6. Identify and develop resources in the Region that support the execution of Program Management.  Target hires into the business who can be mentored and developed into the next generation of Program Managers and/or key Program support resources.
  7. Be available as a Program Manager or key Program resource to support pursuits and execution of work.
  8. Increase B&V marketplace visibility by leading and assisting the Client Directors with participation in regional conferences and committees, community and civic associations, and other activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer at least 5 years program management exp of the 9 years of experience required  

 

Minimum Qualifications

9+ years in a senior project and/or program management role; PM, EM, Planning, Project Controls, etc. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
