The Opportunity

We are seeking an Analyst to support Black & Veatch's growing corrosion practice within the Asset Engineering Solutions team while contributing to broader Infrastructure Advisory projects. This role focuses on evaluating and protecting critical infrastructure assets, including pipelines, tanks, and related facilities serving water, electric, and power generation clients.

 

You will support field investigations, corrosion assessments, cathodic protection evaluations, and data analysis to help clients improve asset reliability and extend infrastructure life. The role also provides exposure to asset management, condition assessment, risk analysis, and infrastructure planning, offering a well-rounded foundation in infrastructure consulting.

 

Working alongside experienced engineers and consultants, you will gain hands-on experience with corrosion control technologies, condition assessment methods, and advisory services through a mix of field and office-based work.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Support projects for water, electric, and power generation clients.
  • Assist with field investigations, data analysis, and engineering evaluations focused on corrosion monitoring and cathodic protection systems.
  • Develop technical and analytical skills through a combination of field and office work.
  • Gain exposure to asset management, condition assessment, and infrastructure advisory services while building a strong foundation for career growth.

The Team

Black & Veatch’s Infrastructure Advisory Business provides a portfolio of solutions focused on the asset ifecycle, including Asset Management & Operations & Maintenance, Infrastructure Technology, Cybersecurity Solutions, and Planning and Transactions. In this role you will be part of the Analyst Team supporting Solutions including Condition Assessment, Maintenance Management, and Strategic Asset Management. The Analyst Team is a diverse team of early-career professionals who are given a wide range of technical projects and skills to equip them to have a solid foundation and move into a specific career track as they advance and develop their skills and capabilities. 

Key Responsibilities

Under close supervision, support technical consulting projects by applying foundational engineering and analytical skills to infrastructure and corrosion-related assignments.

  • Support field investigations, corrosion monitoring, and cathodic protection activities.
  • Assist with planning and coordination of field work and inspection activities.
  • Analyze asset and inspection data and contribute to technical evaluations and reports.
  • Support pipeline inspections, facility condition assessments, and asset management initiatives.
  • Assist in evaluating maintenance, rehabilitation, and replacement strategies.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other client deliverables.
  • Participate in client meetings and collaborate with project teams and subject matter experts.
  • Contribute to projects while meeting budget, schedule, and quality expectations.
  • Develop technical expertise through industry exposure, professional development, and hands-on project experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • 0-2 years of engineering, consulting, internship, or related experience.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective collaboration and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business software.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Arts or Science, preferably in business, math, or engineering OR relevant business experience.

0-2 years experience in business/consulting environment.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

This position will be based out of Black & Veatch office location within the United States. 

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
