The Opportunity

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Support hazard vulnerability and risk assessment analysis for hazard mitigation, resilience and disaster recovery plans.
  • Lead and support innovative data analysis and communication via Storymaps, dashboards, website integration for stakeholder communication and outreach
  • Support and coordinate risk assessment, hazard mitigation, and disaster recovery planning
  • Support client and stakeholder workshops
  • Provide task leadership to deliver Resilience Planning solutions/studies/projects
  • Support engagement with new and existing clients to develop new business for BV

The Team

Black & Veatch has an exciting opportunity for a Risk & Resilience Analyst focused on supporting hazard mitigation, disaster preparedness and recovery, climate adaptation, and community resilience throughout the US.  This professional will be part of the growing BV Planning Solution focused on Communities & Ecosystems.  Their role will be to provide technical excellence to deliver resilience-related projects with opportunities to engage with clients and support business development.

 

With a focus on developing BV’s presence in the resilience market, this professional will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to support projects related to climate adaptation/mitigation, vulnerability assessments, hazard mitigation planning, coastal and sea level rise strategies, and resilient infrastructure system solutions. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of GIS analysis and data visualization experience
  • Experience related to hazard mitigation, resilience, disaster preparedness & recovery, coastal and sea level rise impacts
  • Experience with Federal approaches and tools to assess risks and provide hazard mitigation (i.e. FEMA HAZUS) climate adaptation, disaster recovery, and resilience strategic planning and implementation

Work Environment and Schedule
