The Opportunity
The Asset Management Engineer role is an entry-level position on our Asset Management Services team for a qualified engineering professional with a desire to work in the fields of power generation, distributed infrastructure, and heavy industrial.
As an Asset Management Engineer, this position provides services such as remote monitoring and diagnostics, operating and maintenance, and program management for industrial owners. The growing mix of power generating facilities and industrial applications are diverse; coal, gas, wind, solar, battery energy storage, water treatment, pulp and paper, ammonia, and urea production. The analytical tools leveraged include neural net pattern recognition applications, issue management databases, work order management systems, and custom performance and reliability calculations. These tools enable engineers of various backgrounds to capture, integrate, and analyze real-time operational data. This position provides an exciting opportunity to join the Asset Management Services team with several career track opportunities.
The position presents the opportunity to contribute to a client-focused team lead by experienced engineers in delivering solutions to each client’s needs. Each day will present new and exciting opportunities to solve our clients’ most difficult challenges. The professional will solve challenging problems using various data analytics platforms. This is a client-facing role with responsibility for client meetings and reporting as well as maintaining and growing client relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
Positive, team-first attitude. Professional written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of basic engineering principles with a proactive interest in continued learning. Ability to learn on the fly and use engineering judgment to solve complex problems. Desire to develop industry leading solutions. Academic and/or internship exposure to thermal cycles, power generation, chemical processes, pulp & paper, and/or data analytics. Basic knowledge of power or industrial technologies and trends. FE (EIT) with ability/interest in pursuing a PE.
Minimum Qualifications
No experience required. Requires a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Work Environment
Professionals located near a Black & Veatch office have the option of a hybrid work model that offers a balance between working together in person and the flexibility of remote work. Our hybrid work model means you will work three days in the office and two days from another location of your choice.
