The Opportunity

As the Senior Logistics Operations Analyst, you will have the opportunity to:

 

  • Provide support to project teams with complex logistics functions for projects and proposals.
  • Support other logistics duties on multiple projects.
  • Main contributor to support project logistics initiatives and operations. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Execution of domestic and international ground, ocean, and air shipments including ocean container shipments, breakbulk shipments, barge shipments, and chartered vessels. 
  • Familiar with maritime requirements (IMO), International Air Transportation Association (IATA) and Dangerous Goods (DG) requirements. 
  • Contract, negotiate, and perform execution of shipments with service providers to support projects. 
  • Develop detailed RFP’s supporting EPC project requirements. 
  • Support procurement team to outline supplier logistics requirements.  
  • Assist with contracting freight forwarders and terms and conditions in contract.  
  • Understanding of all required shipping documentation and review for shipment accuracy to support on time deliveries. 
  • Works proactively with suppliers to ensure shipment readiness, verifying and communicating all project specific requirements and all export/import compliance. 
  • Prepare shipping documents to include commercial invoices for international shipments relevant to client delivery contracted incoterm. 
  • Maintain accurate shipping records and file documentation in project repository. 
  • Tracking shipments for multiple projects ensuring timely updates. 
  • Support the development of detailed logistics plan for proposals and projects. 
  • Create detailed logistics project reporting including internal logistics execution plans. 
  • Understanding of 2020 incoterms. 
  • Work with engineering team, expediting, estimating, procurement, legal, insurance, quality, and payables teams.  
  • Review freight forwarder invoices for accuracy to support on time payment. 
  • Compliance with US Customs requirements and export control classification requirements. 
  • Understanding of denied parties lists and sanctioned entities. 
  • Works closely with clients, suppliers, and freight forwarder for country specific customs requirements. 
  • Contribute and communicate supply chain disruptions and current market conditions. 
  • Set up ongoing meetings with clients, suppliers, and freight forwarders supporting project execution. 
  • Proactively identify risks and communicate with all appropriate parties. 
  • Create Transportation & Logistics Studies with assistance from carriers and/or freight forwarders based on the specific scope of project request.  
  • Understanding of Schedule B #’s, Harmonized Tariff Schedules (HTS #) and how duties/taxes are accessed/determined. 
  • Work through Marine Warranty Survey requirements for at risk ocean or air shipments. 
  • Collaborates as needed to resolve complex claims or other issues. 
  • Identifies and assesses improvement opportunities for value add. 
  • Champions continuous improvement efforts. 
  • Assesses and supports change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements. 
  • Proactively supports, encourages, and facilitates staff to engage in continuous improvement activities. 
  • Develops and conducts training programs, coaches, and mentors professionals in logistics function.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business, Technical, or related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for a degree
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
