The Opportunity

As an Electrical Technician Designer 1 at Black & Veatch, you will help address some of the world's most pressing infrastructure challenges. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects to meet our clients' needs and contribute to the growth and success of Black & Veatch.

Responsibilities

Build familiarity with engineering standards, systems, document control procedures, departmental guides, and Black & Veatch policies by engaging in thorough reading and understanding.
Ensure accuracy and compliance of deliverables by adhering to the Black & Veatch Quality Program.
Demonstrate personal commitment to precision, supporting ongoing improvement and adapting to changes effectively.
Adapt and modify deliverables based on diverse design inputs, including schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, equipment plans, and more.
Identify the requirements of internal and external clients, understanding their primary interests and motivations.
Actively seek and share knowledge of the latest technologies and process improvements.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
Working knowledge of Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) software or similar applications for design and modeling.
Basic understanding of engineering standards, systems, and document control procedures.
Knowledge of industry trends, technology advancements, and adherence to computer quality programs.
Skilled in Problem Solving, Written Communication, Informing and Peer Relationships.

Minimum Qualifications

No previous engineering work experience required. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Work Environment

Professionals located near a Black & Veatch office have the option of a hybrid work model that offers a balance between working together in person and the flexibility of remote work. Our hybrid work model means you will work three days in the office and two days from another location.
