Job Summary
As part of BV Enterprise Evolution as a Summer Intern, you will have the opportunity to drive agility, innovation, and hold BV accountable as an organization to our commitment to sustainability. As a member of this team, you are enthusiastic about innovation, growth, client-centric, and work seamlessly across all areas of BV. Working directly with the Sustainability Strategist and Global Sustainability Leader.
Job duties may include
- Support the efforts of analyzing, reporting on and driving Black & Veatch's sustainability performance.
- Primarily focus on enhancing the quality and completeness of Black & Veatch’s ESG data to support regulatory compliance and reporting and business decisions to improve carbon, water, waste and nature impacts.
- Work closely with a wide range of groups within the organization, including the Market Sectors, BV Operations, Global Real Estate, Human Resources, the CIO's Office, Marketing and more, to gather data, develop recommendations and implement sustainability performance improvements.
- Support development and implementation of vision and strategies on sustainability related projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Track, analyze and report on global sustainability metrics including greenhouse gas (GHG) location, market-based emissions and ESG metrics.
- Support the development of content for annual sustainability reports and collaborate with various stakeholders to manage the report development process.
- Support evaluation and prioritization of existing and new actions that improve ESG compliance and reporting ranking and performance.
- Support efforts to collect, synthesize and report on data measuring performance of existing and new actions against relevant baselines.
- Support KPI tracking of sustainability data and other sustainability target.
- Assist with creation/modification of presentations, spreadsheets, standard operating procedures, and various documentation.
- Support employee engagement and knowledge share about sustainability through multiple channels include the BV Sustainability Community Teams channel, Viva engage, and virtual and in-person events.
- Support the creation of executive communication through PowerPoint presentations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Communications skills, both written and oral
- Self-starter
- Highly motivated
- Attention to detail
- Analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Balance of technical, and creative thinking skills
- Familiar with marketing, sales, strategy, data analytics and other business tactics
Minimum Qualifications
Enrollment in a credited program relative to the desired area (i.e., Engineering, Finance, Architecture, etc.). All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
