Job Summary

Functions in our group include safety, project field management, construction management, quality control, start up and decommissioning and field engineering.
This is a management position, responsible to internal clients in terms of all commercial aspects including business deliverables, decision making and impact, accountability, and financial measures (budgets, turnover, etc.); ensures the setting of deliverables schedule, and may coordinate with other departments to ensure support for Subcontracts process and cross-functional initiatives. Responsible for developing commercial strategies for tenders and project controls in its future business. Develops and provides input into the strategic/operations plans. Assists in establishing the site contract administration procedures and reporting systems. Some responsibility for the effective client relationship. Provides assistance in developing and providing input into the strategic/operations plans, contract templates and training.
Management responsibility: Manager or Team Leader. Key competencies typically include: complex knowledge of contract documentation; complex knowledge of contract responsibilities and construction process to manage proposal and project teams; ability to advise the client and project team on the project’s progress and accountability; strong leadership, strategic planning, communication, training, and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides direction to business level leaders
- Manages department personnel: recruiting, retention, attrition
- Establishes goals and supports the performance evaluation process for Business level Subcontracts organization.
- Monitors resourcing needs and adjusts as necessary to meet project objectives and budgets.
- Prepares and adheres to budgets, including the submitall of project metrics.
- Develops, leads, and is responsible for strategic initiatives.
- Develops, leads, and supports business development objectives.
- Writes, recommends, and modifies processes and procedurse for the improvement of the overall subcontract approach.
- Identifies, assesses, and champions improvement opportunities, which will add value to the Subcontracts Group and B&V as a whole.
- Assesses and supports the change management effects associated with the implementation of initiatives and improvement opportunties.
- Defines and supports training needs.
- May represent Subcontracts Group to Clients and external stakeholders.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with key subcontractors to ensure obtainment of high quality products and services.
- Engages assigned professionals through performance management.
- Ensures Subcontractor compliance with prequalification requirements (safety, financial, construction, quality)
- This role requires 50 % travel
Management Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a BA or BS degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Purchasing, Business, Technical or related field. Relevant field or office experience can substitute for a degree.
- 50 % required travel

Preferred Qualifications
Twelve (12) years of relevant Subcontract experience preferred, including management of complex negotiations, experience in the field and home office, and leadership of teams within large projects.
Preferred skills:
- Expert understanding of all Subcontract and Procurement processes and exhibits the capacity to effectively self-execute the transactional Subcontract process in accordance with established Company policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.
- Exhibit appropriate skills at resolving complex commercial terms and conditions issues and other commercial issues through collaboration.
- Possesses an expert knowledge and understanding of commercial terms and conditions and how subcontractor negotiation results can impact risk structure and possible future claims.
- Expert knowledge of construction disciplines, construction execution, means & methods and construction equipment (required)
