The Opportunity
Black & Veatch is seeking an exceptional professional to join our Infrastructure Advisory organization as a Manager – Consulting to provide expertise around Gas Operational Technology (OT) & Industrial Control System (ICS) implementation and other related OT projects. The Team
The Delivery Team is a diverse group of early-to-mid career professionals with a solid foundation of experience and knowledge. Peers are engaged in a wide range of technical projects and encouraged to sharpen their skills to provide clients with superior consulting services with opportunity to advance in a specialized career track. You will work with professionals in the OT Solutions and Digital Delivery Teams who represent a dynamic and cross-functional group of experts in strategy, data, technology, and asset management systems. Together, they deliver innovative, data-driven solutions that help clients navigate complex infrastructure challenges across diverse industries.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage client engagement for complex, transformational programs in oil / gas pipeline transmission & distribution, and other industrial technologies.
- Support development of business and technical strategy, business case and implementation plan for Oil & Gas OT / ICS implementation.
- Lead client interviews and facilitate engagement among stakeholders in understanding Oil & Gas OT / ICS functions, architecture, and infrastructure.
- Work with clients to document and/or discover current and future states business processes
- Provide functional and technical expertise in various aspects of Digital Grid, Operational Technology, and Oil & Gas OT / ICS.
- Perform and manage technical project work such as developing solution concepts, review of vendors’ design documents, requirements traceability
- Support business requirements definition, technical specification development, request for information / proposal development.
- Identify opportunities to bring proposals to clients and support business development efforts for add-on services
- RFI / RFP response analysis and evaluation, vendor selection process, statement of work development, and vendor contract negotiation
- Support development of project plans, key milestones, and project control structure
- Lead and/or participate in system testing
- Transfer knowledge, capabilities, and skills to improve knowledge and skill levels of peers and junior resources
- Bring strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles and negotiate resolutions to complex problems
- Be a change advocate and overcome barriers to change for our clients and team members, navigate/resolve unforeseen challenges, effectively balancing scope, schedule, resources, and quality
- Manage meetings with defined agendas, effective group participation, time management, and action items tracking; ensure team members follow meeting protocols
- Develop professional-quality work products at each stage of the project management lifecycle, leveraging and adding to existing Black & Veatch delivery templates, processes, and artifacts for project management and solution delivery.
- Manage technical project work such as developing solution concepts, review of vendors’ design documents, requirements traceability.
- Contribute to the business development process as a subject matter expert (SME).
- Create and/or collaborate on publication of thought leadership in areas of Digital Grid, Oil & Gas OT / ICS.
Management Responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering, Information Systems, or other relevant technical domain with representative experience.
- 8 years of experience in business and technology consulting, relevant product management, and/or project implementation services.
- Extensive knowledge of pipeline transmission & distribution technologies, operations functions and their associated processes.
- Actively participated in a OT System or ICS upgrades or replacement projects with technical domain experience.
- Hands-on Instrument & Control experience including OT/ICS system communication protocols
- Experience with OT architecture design and system integration with Enterprise IT
- Familiarity with major industry trends and OT, ICS, and Historian vendor software and hardware solutions
- Passport or eligible to obtain
- Master’s degree in business, Engineering, or relevant technology
- 2+ years of experience with LNG, Generation, and / or Refinery control systems
- Actively participated in multiple technology projects through the complete lifecycle including requirements development, application & architecture design, systems integration, testing, implementation, cutover, and post go-live support.
- PLC, RTU, DCS, and / or SCADA configuration and programming experience.
- Direct experience with PHMSA compliance requirements applicable to pipeline operational technology.
- Working knowledge of API recommended practices applicable to pipeline operational technology
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or relevant work experience
- 7+ years experience in a business/consulting environment

Certifications
Major SCADA / ICS system training beneficial
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- Ability to travel up to 50%; typical travel up to 25%
- Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
