Job Summary

We are currently hiring for a Mechanical Engineer 4. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform thermal performance engineering duties for global power generation projects, including coordinating feasibility and conceptual design studies, optimizing thermal cycle designs, leading on-site thermal performance testing, developing equipment procurement specifications, and evaluating equipment vendor bid submittals. 
  • This position utilizes an in-depth engineering knowledge of thermal cycle design for combined cycle, cogeneration, and thermal power cycles; heat balance modeling using GTPro, Gate Cycle, or similar programs; rotating machinery specification development; power plant testing; and bid evaluation analysis of power plant major equipment including combustion turbines, steam turbines, heat recovery steam generators, feedwater heaters, cooling towers, and pumps. 
  • This position is responsible for coordinating with project engineering staff, as well as project managers and client personnel, to review designs and resolve areas of concern.  This position requires mentoring and oversight of work product of junior engineers.  No hire/fire supervising authority.
Management Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field plus four years related experience in the power generation industry, or in the alternative, Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field plus five years of related experience in the power generation industry. 
  • Must have 4 years of experience with design of combined cycle and cogeneration facilities.
  • Must have professional engineer (P.E.) registration or licensure as a professional engineer in their designated home office country.
  • Must have demonstrated proficiency in thermodynamic and fluid mechanics, including thermal heat balance calculation software like Thermoflow Suite of software, GateCycle, or comparable tools. 
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of ASME Performance Test Codes. 
  • Position permits candidate to work remotely from any location in the U.S.  
  • Requires travel to project sites and company headquarters up to 25% of the time.
  • Must have good written and verbal communications skills in English.
