The Opportunity
As the Associate Project Manager - Real Estate & Facilities, you will have the opportunity to:
- Assist in the implementation of real estate and facilities projects for our organization
- Assist in the planning, design coordination, and construction coordination of our regional offices
- Work closely with the Real Estate & Facilities Project Manager and other departments to ensure that projects are aligned with the Corporate Real Estate strategy, organization's objectives and support an optimized hybrid workplace that promotes the growth and development of our employee-owners
The Team
Black & Veatch’s Business Enablement consists of critical groups that help enable the organizations people, projects, and businesses to be as successful as possible. Functions in this group include Digital & Information Technology, Global Finance, Global Human Resources, Legal, Risk Management, and Government Affairs and Real Estate and Building Services.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and management of project plans, timelines, and budgets for regional real estate projects
- Coordinate and manage the planning and construction of our regional offices. Assist with coordination of project team which consists of internal and external contributors, stakeholders, and vendors.
- Ensure workplace and real estate projects meet the needs of our employees and are aligned with the organization's objectives
- Carry out policies and procedures for the management of real estate projects
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including architects, property managers, vendors, and contractors
- Ensure that local and regional real estate projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
- Collaborate with other departments such as IT, Security, Human Resources and Operations to ensure that real estate projects support the growth and development of our employees and align with the organization's objectives
- Stay up to date on industry trends and workplace best practices.
- Manage existing furniture inventory and utilization on future projects. Knowledge of commercial system furniture a plus.
- Manage move coordination for regional and local moves
Management Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires 4 year degree, or equivalent work experience
- All applicants must beable to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of thefollowing: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with anyapplicable laws and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in design, real estate, construction management, or related field
- 1-3 years of experience in project management, with a focus on real estate and facilities projects
- Project management skills, with the ability to develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets
- Experience in real estate and facilities planning, design, construction, and maintenance a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Working analytical and financial skills, with the ability to develop and manage budgets and financial models
- Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task many ongoing projects.
- Familiarity with sustainability and environmental issues related to real estate and workplace a plus.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and stakeholders
Certifications
Active Real Estate License preferred
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- Hybrid work schedule, 3 days in office at corporate HQ, 2 days working remotely
- 25% annual travel
