The Opportunity

The Senior Marketing Analyst will have the opportunity to:

 

  • Be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting market data to provide actionable insights that inform marketing strategies
  • Study consumer behavior, competitor activity, and market trends, to aid the marketing team in making informed decisions about campaign strategies, investments and channel mix
  • Leverage data visualization tools to create clear and impactful reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate insights to stakeholders across different departments

The Team

Black & Veatch’s Enterprise Evolution consists of critical functions focused on identifying market opportunities and bringing together our client facing and growth efforts. Functions include Enterprise Marketing & Communications, Enterprise Sales, Enterprise Strategy, Innovation, Mergers and Acquisitions and Sustainability

Key Responsibilities

Performance Measurement and Reporting 

  • Gather data from various sources like website analytics, advertising platforms, events  social media, sales data, and market research to understand customer behavior and market dynamics. 
  • Interpret data and formulate the hypotheses and insights that lead to recommended optimizations that will positively impact the effectiveness of marketing activities. 
  • Create clear and impactful reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate insights to stakeholders across different departments. 
  • Track and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns across different channels (email, social media, paid advertising) using key performance indicators (KPIs) like click-through rates, conversion rates, and ROMI. 
  • Identifying and defining different customer segments to tailor marketing messages and campaigns accordingly. 
  • Collaborate with Demand Generation Manager and Marketing Automation Specialist on data structure, integrity and enrichment strategies to enable database analysis, persona development and segmentation.  
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to guide goal setting and KPI definition for marketing campaigns and programs. 

Budget Management 

  • Own and provide oversight of the processes needed to manage the marketing budget in partnership with the finance team including maintaining documentation, reviewing and reconciling cost-detail reports, structuring and requesting new finance codes and guiding budgeting and forecasting decisions. 
  • Collaborate with marketing leaders to gather budget requests, evaluating their validity, and consolidating them into a comprehensive organizational budget. 
  • Guide budget requestors in the forecasting and tracking of their expenditures against the budget and documenting any deviations. 
  • Preparing regular budget reports and presentations for management, highlighting key financial metrics and insights. 

Decision Rights: 

  • Guide decisions on reporting frameworks and best practices. 
  • Guide decisions on data structure and flows in collaboration with Sr. Technology Manager 

Key Linkages: 

  • Direct engagement with Digital Marketing/Operations team. 
  • Collaboration across all functions of the Enterprise Marketing organization. 
  • Regional collaboration that helps to support the planned digital marketing processes, tools and tactics outside of the US. 
  • Key relationships (outside of Marketing) include D&IT, Finance, Market Insights and Enterprise Sales.

Individual Contributor

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of experience, with 3-5 years working in marketing analytics, performance reporting and data analysis, interpretation and visualization  
  • Experience with Salesforce and B2B specific marketing technology platforms including marketing automation, demand-side advertising, event tools, website tracking, social media/listening, media monitoring, etc. 
  • Experience building and automating compelling data visualizations using software like Power BI, Google Data Studio, etc. 
  • Experience working with campaign operations, digital marketing operations, analytics, and sales operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to extract insights from data and make data-driven decisions. 
  • Hands-on experience with CRM, marketing automation, marketing funnel, and other B2B marketing technologies and concepts 
  • Strong understanding of the typical marketing campaign process and needed integrations. 
  • Have a proven track record of delivering business results in a fast-paced, results-driven, global team-oriented environment 
  • Solid understanding of digital and performance marketing concepts. 
  • Highly self-motivated, have a stellar work ethic, and can work both autonomously and collaboratively with cross-functional partners. 
  • Excellent communication skills, able to speak confidently to C-level executives. 
  • Familiarity with coding languages like Python, R can be beneficial for advanced data analysis. 
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis methods to test hypotheses and draw accurate conclusions. 
  • Experience with the use of AI to assist in uncovering trends, predictive modeling, segmentation, etc.  
  • Skilled user of MS Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint.

Typical office environment with a hybrid work schedule: 3 days in office and 2 days remote
