We are looking for an enthusiastic professional with a proven track record of delivering successful condition assessment projects and demonstrated ability to act as a subject matter expert in infrastructure condition assessment and rehabilitation, especially related to pressure pipelines.

Team

 

The Condition Assessment and Corrosion Services practice consists of the following services: pipeline assessment and rehabilitation, facility condition assessment, condition assessment masterplanning, predictive modeling, and design and specification of corrosion control measures including linings, coatings, and cathodic protection systems.


Condition assessment and corrosion services are a strategic growth area for the firm and provide exciting career potential for interested professionals who seek to achieve best-in-class condition assessment project and program development and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with key clients and decision makers, and convert these relationships into new opportunities that grow and foster a sustainable Condition Assessment and Asset Management business.

  • Understand local condition assessment needs and trends and align services to meet these needs.
  • Work with local Client Directors and Project Managers to set strategy and identify, pre-position, develop proposals, and lead interviews.
  • Work with Planning and Asset Management Business Line Leaders to win work, grow and mentor a local team, and build technical capability.
  • Maintain expertise on theory and application of emerging and established pipeline assessment and rehabilitation approaches, from desktop studies to high-resolution in-line inspections.
  • Provide orchestration and leadership and mentoring to project teams in planning and delivering projects. Manage and orchestrate projects to make sure budget and schedule objectives are achieved.
  • Interpret pipeline condition assessment data and clearly communicate observations and produce results in professional quality project deliverables.
  • Provide mentoring to earlier career professionals to support individual career development.
  • Quickly troubleshoot and problem solve to resolve challenging situations in real time.
  • Support regional and national project opportunity development at the level of engagement appropriate for the opportunity and location, from providing as-needed technical guidance to leading opportunity development.
  • Collaborate in setting and executing strategy for competitive technical differentiation, practice areas for growth in support of client needs, and managing vendor
  • Support leadership in setting hiring priorities consistent with project workload and growth strategy and identify and recruit candidates.
  • Represent Black & Veatch in national professional societies and conferences (e.g. AWWA and ASCE) to advance the firm’s reputation for thought leadership and commitment to advancing the pipeline condition assessment and corrosion services industry.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of related practice areas, including facility assessment, corrosion services, asset management, information solutions, business intelligence, and masterplanning.
  • Promote and instill Black & Veatch safety culture for self and team; ensures project teams are following and promoting safety culture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years of related work experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university; or equivalent job-related work experience.
  • Professional Engineering registration, preferred
  • Experience in a client-facing role
  • Substantial field experience planning and executing inspections involving complex project teams. 

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 8 years related work experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
