Job Summary
We are seeking a ServiceNow Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable solutions across the ServiceNow platform. This role is responsible for translating business requirements into technical solutions, spanning configuration, scripting, integrations, and platform automation across multiple enterprise workflows.
This is a developer-focused role that operates across multiple ServiceNow domains (ITSM, ITAM (SAM/HAM), ITOM, IRM, SecOps, SPM, CMDB, and emerging capabilities), assigned based on backlog demand and platform priorities.
The ideal candidate brings strong JavaScript proficiency, hands-on platform scripting expertise, and a configuration-first mindset, building solutions that are maintainable, upgrade-safe, and aligned to platform governance standards.
This role operates on an overlapping coverage model with onshore (US-based) teams, ensuring continuity of delivery and platform support across global time zones.
Key Responsibilities

Design, Develop, and Implement
- Build and customize ServiceNow applications and modules including ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, SAM, IRM, and other enterprise workflows
- Develop and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise systems using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Servers, and IntegrationHub
- Build and configure Scripted REST APIs for inbound/outbound data flows
- Develop catalog items, record producers, and service request workflows
CMDB & CSDM Management
- Implement and maintain a healthy and accurate CMDB following CSDM principles
- Design and maintain data models, IRE rules, and relationships between Configuration Items (CIs) to support IT operations and business services
- Support Discovery, Service Mapping, and reconciliation configurations
Automation & Optimization
- Develop automation solutions leveraging Flow Designer, subflows, orchestration, and custom scripting to streamline IT and business processes
- Enhance platform performance, availability, and reliability through proactive maintenance and optimization
- Build and maintain workflows, notifications, and scheduled jobs
Governance & Best Practices
- Adhere to ServiceNow development best practices including code reviews, reusability, documentation, and compliance with organizational standards
- Maintain platform integrity during upgrades, patches, and deployments
- Follow configuration-first principles to minimize technical debt and preserve upgrade-safety
- Manage Update Sets, application scoping, and instance deployment practices
Testing & Troubleshooting
- Conduct unit testing, debugging, and root-cause analysis throughout the development lifecycle
- Leverage ATF (Automated Test Framework) for repeatable test execution
- Troubleshoot and enhance existing ServiceNow solutions to meet evolving business needs
Collaboration & Delivery
- Work with Capability Leads, Architects, and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives
- Provide effort estimates for development work and communicate technical risks or dependencies
- Maintain development documentation and contribute to knowledge base articles
Follow-the-Sun Collaboration
- Provide overlapping coverage with onshore (US-based) teams to support continuous delivery
- Participate in handoff protocols to ensure visibility into in-flight work, blockers, and decisions
- Support off-hours releases, urgent fixes, and global delivery cadence as required
Continuous Improvement
- Research and implement emerging ServiceNow capabilities including Predictive Intelligence, Performance Analytics, and NowAssist
- Stay current with ServiceNow releases and evaluate new features for adoption
- Contribute to technical standards, runbooks, and platform best practices
Management Responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- 5– 12 years of hands-on ServiceNow development and configuration experience
- Proven expertise in one or more of the following: ITSM, ITOM, ITAM (SAM/HAM), SAM, IRM, SecOps, CSDM, and CMDB
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API (GlideRecord, GlideSystem, GlideAggregate), HTML, CSS
- Hands-on experience with REST/SOAP integrations and Scripted REST APIs
- Experience with ServiceNow data structures, Update Sets, ACLs, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, and UI Actions
- Experience with Flow Designer, subflows, and workflow automation
- Experience with Update Sets, application scoping, and instance deployment practices
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English proficiency required for global team collaboration)
- High attention to detail with a focus on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional and globally distributed teams
Preferred
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
- One or more Implementation Specialist Certifications (CIS-ITSM, CIS-ITOM, CIS-SAM, CIS-HRSD, CIS-Discovery, etc.)
Experience with:
- IntegrationHub and MID Server configurations
- UI Builder, Workspaces, and Now Experience Framework
- Service Portal widget development
- Predictive Intelligence, Performance Analytics, and NowAssist
- Familiarity with ITIL v4 fundamentals
- Experience with ATF (Automated Test Framework) for script testing
- Experience operating in follow-the-sun support models with global teams
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in computer science or related field OR equivalent work experience. In addition to the education requirements, eight years related experience. Training related to business area supported (i.e. Accounting, Engineering, etc.).
