The Opportunity


The Business Support Specialist for Water Infrastructure Projects will function in a business support role directly working with project managers. The expectation is that you would provide project coordination support for water utilities including both project execution and pursuit support. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

 

  • Support project managers from project development through project completion.
  • Receive stronger insight into the project manager role including financials, staffing, business development, and overall business support.
  • Position yourself for future career growth within Black & Veatch.


Please note: This role has minimal travel. Otherwise, this role will be hybrid: 2 days per week remote, 3 days per week in-office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide proposal development and management support (i.e. staffing plans, organization charts, project pursuits, project workflows).
  • Provide support through the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with multiple project management functions (i.e. subcontracts, finance, risk management, engineering).
  • Prepare and coordinate updates to various project management tools (i.e. client relationship, staffing, PowerBI).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred 5+ years of professional experience as a project coordinator or in a similar role.
  • Previous consulting or water utility experience.
  • Experience working with critical infrastructure projects and/or experience with entities who provide or are involved with critical infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency with computer software, including MS Office Suite, Project Software, and Salesforce.
  • Experience assisting with proposal development and project execution.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, Science, or related field or related experience.
  • 3+ years relevant experience.
