Making a World of Difference - Regional Sales Director

 

Black & Veatch is searching for a Regional Sales Director (aka Deputy Head of Sales) to join the Global Sales & Marketing group within the Power Business Unit.  This group provides processes and talent to all engineering, procurement and construction projects across the globe.  Additionally, it encompasses sales strategy, governance, processes, tools and metrics.

 

The Regional Sales Director reports to the Global Sales & Marketing Leader with a dotted line to the Head of Power Business Unit in the Middle East, Europe and Africa and will work closely with other sales and marketing groups and regional leaders to build and implement regional go-to-market strategies.  This Director will manage client relationships and client experiences.

Key Responsibilities

 

•    The Regional Sales Director will be client focused while working directly across the Power business to develop effective regional sales strategies. This person will:
•    Leads the development and Maintains Regional Opportunity Funnel for each Global Business Line.
•    Identify, engage with and develop new and existing clients and partners for Black & Veatch Power.
•    Communicates and drives strategic sales and marketing direction consistent with Power Strategy.
•    Sets the standard for qualifying sales opportunities and how to quickly assess and successfully pursue opportunities. 
•    Leads critical strategic pursuits.
•    Develops and maintains Project Risk Matrix and provides monthly Power Portfolio Risk Analysis.
•    Plays a key role in determining the drivers/levers that will maximize the opportunities for success and develops strategies to manage existing customers in terms of optimizing B&V’s positioning for future business with each customer.
•    Develops/maintains a deep insight into evolving decision-making processes of customers, identifying and influencing key decision makers, and feeding customer and competitive intelligence back into the organization.
•    Ensures the Opportunity Funnel is in line with and supports the overall Power business strategy and risk portfolio.
•    Provide B&P/Mktg Budget support, analysis and provides direction/recommendation for budget shifting.
•    Participate in the development of Sales Managers and support of other Regional Directors.
•    Runs Project Review Board process.
•    Consistently reports on region needs, performance and KPI’s. 
•    Pursues and maintains the development of global/regional strategic partnerships, relationships and alliances. 
•    Identifies new business opportunities and other strategic growth opportunities for the company.
•    Drives new business acquisition across all Business Lines towards achieving set financial targets with profitable growth.

Management Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

 

•    A minimum 15 years’ experience with at least 5 years leading a Sales & Marketing team for mid to large scale EPC projects.
•    Possess Sales or Business Development Experience in UK minimum 5 years with a proven sales track record in Power Business/Industry
•    Possesses mature judgment, the highest level of integrity, flexibility, and outstanding and “hands-on” managerial skills, including the ability to play the lead role in building the UK Power Group’s sales and marketing organization/function along with an ability to interact with all levels of personnel across the company.
•    Tactical and innovative sales director; willing to take ownership of the total performance and resulting regional sales strategy.
•    Strategic thinker and leader who is sensitive to customer needs and can understand complex customer relationships (i.e., local, regional, national, and international)
•    Excellent communications and interpersonal skills; equally adept at one-on-one and group communications; a team and business builder who understands and creates an attractive company culture; strong partnerships, credibility, and authenticity at all levels of the company.
•    Strong knowledge of shared services scope.
•    Positive and looks to overcome challenges.

Minimum Qualifications

 

•    Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Engineering, Business Management, Construction, or related technical discipline.  
•    15+ years progressive experience in management of relevant business line and related technology.
