Job Summary

The Automation Technical Lead will be part of the B&V Automation Center of Excellence (CoE) which is a key function of the B&V Digital Office. This is a multifaceted, hands-on role and combines working with internal corporate business customers, IT support functions (Applications, Infrastructure, Security) and with external vendor/delivery teams for the design and delivery of secure and efficient Intelligent Automation (IA) solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the adoption of best practices around design, development, security and performance for the IA solutions.
  • Design IA solutions for the identified business cases that appropriately incorporates technologies across RPA, process orchestration and a combination of other hyper automation technologies including AI/ML, process mining, NLG/NLP.
  • Work with the Automation CoE Lead, project managers and delivery teams to plan, develop and deploy IA solutions.
  • Design, develop and implement automation solutions within the enterprise standards and conventions and following agile principles.
  • Prepare the architecture, solutions design documents and participate and/or present the architecture to the B&V technical architecture review board.
  • Support the Automation CoE Lead in assessing the automation potential for each business case and support the Return on Investment evaluation.
  • Provide oversight of the solutions design and development activities along with code reviews as needed during automation projects delivered by 3rd party vendors.
  • Partner with Automation CoE Business Analyst(s) and business stakeholders to determine the automation technical design for the use case.
  • Assess gaps in the identified business cases and the hyper automation technology stack to recommend an IA technology roadmap working with appropriate technology partners from the Automation CoE and IT App, Infrastructure members.
  • Support and engage in the operational oversight of automations in-production including maintenance of the automation software and infrastructure.
  • Keep up with the current automation industry and tech trends, conduct research and develop/evolve the automation technology roadmap for BV.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in the design and development of IA solutions across a combination of hyper automation technologies.
  • 4+ years of experience as a developer in UiPath technologies along with some combination of additional automation technologies such as Orchestration, OCR/ICR, MS Power Automate.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, working across Agile & Waterfall methodologies.
  • 3+ years of experience leading automation projects.
  • Foundational knowledge in IT Service Management (ITSM) principles such as Incident, Problem, Change and Service Request Management processes and tools (e.g. ServiceNow)
  • Keen analytical and problem-solving capabilities with demonstrated ability to present technical solution details to a non-technical audience as well as prepare clear and concise written documentation.

  • Demonstrated experience in designing IA solutions with a combination of RPA and other hyper automation technology stacks
  • Manage change, ambiguity and complexity with ease
  • Experience working in Engineering and Construction industry
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, written communication and facilitation skills
  • Able to prioritize and work on multiple projects concurrently and efficiently
  • Able to perform independent evaluation, selection and application of standard IA techniques, procedures and criteria
  • Knowledge of 2 or more automation technology focus areas such as Robotic Process Automation, BPM/Service Orchestration, AI/ML, Process Mining, NLG/NLP, API based automations
  • Able to articulate user experience and design principles to team members and customers.
  • Excellent MS Office skills including MS Visio and other architecture design tools.
