Job Summary
Under general supervision, supports engineering teams by performing technical tasks that require an intermediate understanding of engineering principles and practices. Utilizes digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables. May begin to provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineering technicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Possess strong foundational knowledge of engineering standards, systems, document control processes, and company policies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and quality assurance programs.
- Analyze and interpret engineering deliverables for accuracy and compliance.
- Communicate key messages within the group and across disciplines to maintain schedule and budget alignment.
- Review engineering drawings and provide feedback to junior technicians.
- Monitor progress reports and take corrective actions to keep projects on track.
- Independently perform 3D modeling and 2D drawing extraction, including physical design tasks such as cable tray sizing, duct bank sizing, conduit sizing, and layout preparation.
- Modify typical engineering details to meet project-specific requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and task assignments to junior personnel.
- Typically requires 3-10 years of experience.
Management Responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, E3D, SP3D
- Experience in 3D modeling in E3D, SP3D , cable tray sizing, grounding, lighting, lightning protection, raceway composites, circuit routing, clash checks, and CARMS.
