Job Summary

Functions as technical specialist, or has management and/or administrative responsibilities for a group. May supervise multi-discipline engineering staff on projects of medium to high complexity, and/or is recognized as a key reference for technical guidance through depth and breadth of knowledge. Has some influence for scope of responsibilities within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

•    Shall be responsible for producing quality output,
•    Shall be aware of project schedule.
•    Understands the Clients Technical requirements as per documentation provided.
•    Shall be aware of basic design standards and codes.
•    Issues project piping material specification.
•    Issues Valves and Specialty piping components data sheets
•    Perform calculations of I/P thickness, External Pressure, Branch calculations as per ASME B31.3.
•    Issues technical part of requisitions for all piping components.
•    Shall be able to technically evaluate vendor offers received for all piping components.
•    Vendors documents Review and approval.
•    Maintains project technical files as per Company standards
•    Performs the inter-disciplines checking for the documents in accordance with the scope of piping material section
•    Checks sub-contracted discipline engineering documents in accordance with the scope of piping material section
•    Shall be able to handle and process material take offs and generate reports as per project requirements
•    Work exp in Smart Materials tool is an added advantage.
•    Review quality control documents if required.
•    Review P&ID and provide valuable inputs if any.
•    Shall be able to identify any foreseen technical or financial or delay risk.

Management Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

•    A degree in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering with at least 15-20 years’ experience in major oil/gas projects in the capacity of Piping Material and Specification Engineer in 3D detailed engineering environment.
•    Should have extensive expertise in developing piping material specification in.
•    Must be fully knowledgeable about National & International codes and standards for this discipline.
•    Knowledge of Pipeline design codes ASME B31.4 & B31.8 would be added advantage.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 11 years related work experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
