Job Summary

Black & Veatch Deutschland GmbH has an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer Student (or related field) in Wiesbaden office. Under supervision from senior electrical engineers, the candidate performs routine aspects of electrical engineering. Applicant applies knowledge of electrical engineering principles to prescribed departmental techniques and procedures to complete electrical diagram designs assignments.

Applicants verify designs for Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and PV Solar. In addition, work with electric utilities to produce utility electrical coordination drawings for new AC services.

Key Responsibilities

  • •   Verification of Desktop Studies, and Feasibility Studies for new technical innovations, including EV stations deployment
    •   Drawing up plans using computer-assisted engineering and design software
    •   Preparing engineering deliverables such as one-line drawings, calculations, reports, specifications, and studies
    •   Estimating material, construction, and labor costs, and project timescales
    •   Making sure projects meet electrical and construction safety regulations
    •   Performing routine research and develops recommendations for electrical equipment and/or materials
    •   Attending meetings, writing reports and giving presentations to managers
    •   Coordinating with others when directed by supervisor or project leadership

Preferred Qualifications

•    Enrolled in Electrical Engineering or related field, having approved 50% of the courses.
•    Knowledge of electrical engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline.
•    Electrical industry knowledge and technology trends.
•    Knowledge of the company quality program.
•    Knowledge of construction and constructability practices and principles.
•    Knowledge of MS Office applications and their use (i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point, Bluebeam, etc.).
•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills
•    Experience designing EV infrastructure is an advantage
•    Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and problem solve effectively.
•    Fluent in English language, German and Spanish as a bonus.

Minimum Qualifications

No experience required. Current enrollment in ABET accredited university in Electrical Engineering program. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Normal office environment: Speaking, Listening. Sitting/Standing/Computer usage for extended periods of time. Ability to utilize video/audio conferencing software for internal/external communication purposes.
