Electrical Supervisor - Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and interpretation of engineering drawings, specifications, and design requirements, and offer overall technical support to subcontractors during project execution.
• Review field conditions and, where appropriate, perform basic design verification and minor field modifications within authorized limits.
• Provide commercial and contractual guidance on assigned subcontracts in coordination with the Field Subcontract Administrator and/or Procurement Manager.
• Review, maintain records of, and respond to Contractor Information Requests (CIRs) in a timely manner.
• Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with technical specifications, contract requirements, and project standards.
• Oversee discipline-specific construction activities and ensure alignment with the approved project schedule and milestones.
• Prepare and submit Requests for Field Modification Proposals (RFMPs) and Work Authorizations (WAs) for approval by the Project Manager.
• Maintain accurate daily site logs and records to document construction progress, issues, and key project activities.
• Perform quantity take-offs as required to support construction planning, progress measurement, and invoice verification.
• Review subcontractor progress payment applications and recommend acceptance based on completed work and contractual requirements.
• Monitor Technical Service Representatives (TSRs) and vendor personnel, including review and approval of timesheets and daily activity reports.
• Compile, maintain, and update Construction Redline Drawings and As-Built markups to support project turnover and documentation requirements.
• Coordinate and oversee site document control activities related to engineering and construction documentation.
• Assist the Field Quality Assurance Manager in conducting inspections, witnessing tests, and verifying compliance with project quality requirements.
• Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with company Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the effective implementation of process enhancements and change management activities.
• Foster strong collaboration among Engineering, Construction, Quality, Commissioning, Procurement, and Contractor teams to support safe and efficient project execution.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of electrical experience in the Oil & Gas, LNG, or FPSO industries.
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience on major industrial construction or commissioning projects.
• Experience supporting large-scale LNG projects during construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup phases.
• Hands-on experience with HV, MV, and LV electrical systems.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous LNG facility commissioning and startup experience.
• Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and other international electrical standards.
• Professional Engineering registration or equivalent certification is preferred.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Physical Demands:
• Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds. 
• Stand, Kneel, Bend, Stoop, Move, and Walk long distances in and around confined, cluttered places, and uneven areas.
• See and hear naturally or with correction.   
• Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties. 
• Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls according to a set procedure. 
• Requires repetitive movement. 
• May require work above 5 feet in height.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds. 
• Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions. 

Work Environment:
• Typical construction site environment:  
• Requires working in cramped work spaces and getting into awkward positions. 
• Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32F degrees) temperatures and exposure to inclement weather such as dust, wind, snow, rain, etc. 
• Requires working in extremely bright or low lighting conditions 
• Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. 
• Work around hazardous equipment.
• Typical office environment.
• This position is considered a safety sensitive position.
