Job Summary

We are seeking a Construction Support Manager to help lead construction support activities for complex nuclear projects. In this role, you will work closely with project, construction, engineering, procurement, quality, safety, and field teams to support successful project execution from proposal through closeout. This position is ideal for a construction leader who understands the importance of safety, quality, planning, and regulatory compliance in nuclear project environments. This role requires travel and being in the field.

Key Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with project and construction leaders to plan and execute construction activities.
  • Coordinate key support functions, including procurement, materials, equipment, quality, logistics, staffing, and project controls.
  • Develop and support construction execution plans, staffing plans, responsibility matrices, and field readiness activities.
  • Facilitate constructability reviews and improve coordination between engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
  • Support project cost, schedule, productivity tracking, and budget management for construction support scopes.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and help drive corrective actions that improve project performance.
  • Work with supply chain and field procurement teams to support procurement strategy, material and equipment delivery, and subcontractor planning.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and support compliance with EHS requirements, quality plans, corporate procedures, and client specifications.

Nuclear Project Responsibilities

  • Support nuclear quality requirements, including NQA-1, project QA plans, document control, inspection/test status, and nonconformance processes.
  • Coordinate with QA teams to support oversight, audit readiness, and internal, client, and regulatory reviews.
  • Help ensure compliance with 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, applicable ASME Sections III, VIII, IX, and XI, and client-specific nuclear requirements.
  • Champion nuclear safety culture through procedural compliance, questioning attitude, conservative decision-making, stop-work authority, and strong work controls.
  • Support nuclear document control, records management, material and equipment traceability, and controlled drawing/procedure requirements.
  • Support oversight of safety-related construction activities, including hold/witness points, inspections and tests, supplier/subcontractor compliance, design verification, and field changes.
  • Help identify, document, resolve, and close nonconforming items and quality issues through corrective action processes.
  • Support constructability input, RFIs, field design issues, and field change requests while maintaining alignment with design/licensing basis and nuclear procedures.
  • Lead and mentor construction support team members while promoting collaboration across engineering, construction, QA, supply chain, project controls, project leadership, and Construction Operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent related field experience
  • 10+ years of construction or project execution experience
  • Nuclear project experience strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of NQA-1, ASME codes, and nuclear regulatory requirements
  • Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in construction or heavy industrial experience preferred, or relevant experience. 3+ years of construction management experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Physical Demands:
• Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds. 
• Stand, Kneel, Bend, Stoop, Move, and Walk long distances in and around confined, cluttered places, and uneven areas.
• See and hear naturally or with correction.   
• Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties. 
• Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls according to a set procedure. 
• Requires repetitive movement. 
• May require work above 5 feet in height.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds. 
• Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions. 

Work Environment:
• Typical construction site environment:  
• Requires working in cramped work spaces and getting into awkward positions. 
• Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32F degrees) temperatures and exposure to inclement weather such as dust, wind, snow, rain, etc. 
• Requires working in extremely bright or low lighting conditions 
• Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. 
• Work around hazardous equipment.
• Typical office environment.
• This position is considered a safety sensitive position.
