The Opportunity
Black & Veatch is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Consultant to join our Infrastructure Advisory organization within Delivery team focusing on Infrastructure Technology Solutions (ITS).
In this role, you will support the delivery of technology-enabled consulting services for utility clients, focusing on digital transformation, operational technology (OT), and enterprise system implementations. You will work across business and technology teams to define requirements, improve processes, and support implementation of systems that enhance asset performance, operational efficiency, and decision-making.

The Team
Black & Veatch’s Infrastructure Advisory business delivers solutions across the asset lifecycle, including Asset Management, Infrastructure Technology Systems, Cybersecurity, Planning, and Transactions.
The Delivery Team works alongside clients to align people, processes, data, and technology, supporting modernization of grid and utility operations through implementation of systems such as ADMS, DERMS, CIS, AMI, EAM, and other digital platforms.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams of consultants, engineers, data specialists, and technology experts to deliver practical, data-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities
As a Consultant, you will support both technical delivery and client engagement across a range of infrastructure technology initiatives:
Project Delivery & Analysis
- Support delivery of consulting engagements related to utility IT and OT system transformation (e.g., ADMS, DERMS, CIS, EAM, digital platforms)
- Assist in documenting current and future state business processes, requirements, and system functionality
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve performance and decision-making
- Develop client deliverables including reports, dashboards, presentations, and solution documentation
Business & Technology Integration
- Translate business requirements into functional designs, user stories, and system configurations
- Support development of solution blueprints, business cases, and implementation roadmaps
- Contribute to requirements traceability, testing support, and validation activities for system implementations
- Assist in aligning stakeholders across business and technology teams to support program objectives
Client Engagement & Collaboration
- Facilitate workshops, working sessions, and stakeholder meetings with moderate supervision
- Communicate insights and recommendations clearly to client and internal teams
- Support development of project scope, workplans, and proposals
- Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Apply structured problem-solving approaches to improve processes and project outcomes
- Support development of tools, dashboards, and reporting to enable data-driven program management
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the ITS solution
Management Responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or related field
- Typically 3–5 years of experience in consulting, utility operations, or technology implementation environments
- Experience supporting IT or business transformation projects, preferably within utilities or infrastructure sectors
- Experience in utility industry domains (electric, gas, water) and familiarity with operational or enterprise systems
- Exposure to system implementations such as ADMS, DERMS, CIS, EAM, or similar digital platforms
- Background in:

- Agile delivery methodologies (Scrum, SAFe)

- Data analysis, visualization, and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel)
- Experience developing:

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience. 4+ years experience in a business/consulting environment.
